I got a set to try exactly that but I need to get a pick guard ready first.
I actually have a detailed thread at TDPRI going into my mods to this guitar. Not sure if I should post a link here or just copy and paste to a new thread.

Anyone done pickup swaps/electronics mods on these yet?
I have a set of Bootstraps doing nothing.
Other idea is to swap out the pickups in my AO and put the '65 PVs in the XII.
I put a set of PV ‘65’s in mine after I liberated them from my VMJM (funny enough,
that guitar got some custom Bootstraps).
The ‘65’s are amazing in the XII. I wanted a more traditional jangle and they’re doing exactly that.
That's good to hear. I'll prob go fwd with putting SD Antique1 in the AO like I wanted to so it can bequeath its stock pickups unto the JMXII. Mine's Oly White. Need to source a parchment pickguard for it.
I'll checkout your thread on TDPRI. Would like to see those XII pickups workout for the JMXII.
BTW, what value are the pots in this guitar?

500k volume, 250k tone. Nice big pots.

I'm starting to come around to the stock pickups, at least the neck. It has an immediate presence when recording tracks with other guitars, something that I've found takes a bit more work to achieve with other electric 12's, especially when run relatively clean.

Anyone know of a pickguard that fits these?
Compared them to a US guard and the bridge pickup is much further from the bridge.
I'd really like a white pearloid guard, not a fan of the glow in the dark looking one on the blue.

There are some listed on E-Bay. I have no idea if they are any good or the material is nice.
Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII pickguards- many colors
With the lighter one on the Lake Placid Blue model, I'm pretty sure it's the same material used on the Fiesta Red limited edition. There are so many different photos taken in different light situations and all our monitors are calibrated differently as well. It's pretty hard to get a true idea of what the actual color and reflectivity are like.
Anyway, like pretty much any pickguard, playing wear and UV light will darken it and lessen the sheen within a year or so.

They are good and the material is quite nice. That's my listing. The pearloids and most 3 ply laminates are WD Music's material. I've been using Allparts' printed pattern red tort, which is about as good as I've seen in a printed material, and I just got some new WD all celluloid red tort on parchment.
I don't have any fantastic looking brown tort right now, just a budget printed pattern like you see on import guitars and an all celluloid brown with a mild look.

Can you shoot me a message if you get the White pearloid back in stock please?

Nice! Hey, good to meet you, so to speak. In my experience, WD has good material.
(Their custom guards used to have a rep for not always fitting well, but that’s another thing). I may be connecting with you for one of these later this winter.

Cool!
Any plans to do a split XII pickup equipped version?

Also curious about this. I messaged on ebay about this exact topic last week! If you need a loaner XII and/or a set of the Roswell XII pickups for reference, I don't live too far away from your shop...
