Just to update: the third replacement arrived finally! This one is perfect! Even better than the CFM I have. Literally no cosmetic blemishes. Perfect dark, smooth fretboard (the one of my CFM is still a bit dry, need to oil it!). Frets are still a tiny bit scratchy but still ok!
I specifically asked Thomann to check the guitar before sending it to me and the replacement order got stock in their guitar department for a couple of days so this seems to be the trick to make sure to get a solid model if you can't purchase in store.
Overall super happy to own two special Jaguars after years of waiting for the right model to appear :-)

Ok today I installed the Staytrem bridge and vibrato arm system/upgrade. Also added an extra string tree for the D and G strings.
Took the Buzzstop off for now...
The pickups sound so good but once loud they squeal like shit, so they must go.
Lipstick bases are to wide so until I find a way to cut them down these will stay.
Great, wonderful guitar

There’s a quick fix for the squealing .Pacafeliz wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 3:38 amOk today I installed the Staytrem bridge and vibrato arm system/upgrade. Also added an extra string tree for the D and G strings.

Put some melted paraffine ( from a candle ) at the base of the pickups , between the pickups and the claws . Let it dry and no more squealing ...

I've been reading about potting pickups but it seems too complex, so I'd surely fuck it up..

Yeah, you don’t need to wax pot the full pickups in that case .Pacafeliz wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 6:56 amOh wow, really? That idea came from Curtis Novak Himself . I tried it and it worked perfectly ...
