I'm pretty sure that Souldier has some.

Re: Show Yer Straps
Couch came through with some alternative material for the tabs on my straps. We found some imported old vinyl that I couldn't get to squeak on any of my guitars.
I have one spare, so clearly I need to buy a guitar to put it on.

Re: Show Yer Straps
For me, "fancy strap" generally means anything that costs more than about a fiver and is an actual, real strap. I tend to go super cheap on such utilitarian things.
Having said that, I decided I wanted a proper strap for my main guitar that I just spring for custom pickups on. I really liked the look of some Couch straps, but couldn't justify the price after shipping. So I went for something closer instead:

It arrived today. It's really nice. Well, it looks great, seems well finished, and my guitar doesn't fall off when I try to play it.
Pics to follow if anyone's interested.

Re: Show Yer Straps
Also, only half related, I've always thought Elvis and Kresse should do guitar straps.
If you don't know them, they take decommissioned firehose, parachute silk and other products and recycle them into luxury items. I was gifted one of their bags a few years back and it's one of my favourite objects. Their stuff is superb quality, and they properly buy into the whole ethos of not wasting material. To the extent that when the buckle broke on leather belt I own (made by someone else), I contacted them to see if they could sell me a buckle so that I could get it to match my bag. Instead, they had me send them the belt which they fixed, for free.
I reckon if a couple of people contacted them, they'd probably make some straps.

Re: Show Yer Straps
Every strap tells a story. So advance apologies to anyone else posting theirs today as my first one will take some beating!
This one is actually a Ralph Lauren Polo handbag strap, it didn't cost much and I adapted it for 'proper' use. I am reasonably confident the artisan who made it was not paid sufficiently well but I bought it used so can only hope the person who bought it new wrestled with their conscience.
*Contains offset content*
This one is a genuine Fender bought way back before NOS was a thing. A small local store, something of an institution, was closing down due to the onslaught of the franchise music store and this was in the sale bin.
The pattern is similar to the one Hendrix used at Woodstock, different colours. The amp is my '63 non-TB. And yes, they sing well together.

Re: Show Yer Straps
So, the Eric pin is from a Northampton, MA musician, I can't remember his last name. But he played a gig opening for Matt & Kim like, 12 years ago, and then handed out these pins after his set. It's so ridiculous that I just had to put it on a strap.UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 1:46 amIs that a wee tribute to Eric out of the Disraeli Gears you have there?

Just plain black for me. No fancy sparkles or studs, but also no blues lawyer SRV vibes.
Just black. On everything*
(*apart from the Tele. That got a dark brown, sorry dark lord)

Re: Show Yer Straps
I just thought of your post about squeaky couch straps, I didn't notice it with my other guitars but my purple seatbelt couch strap squeaks like hell on my 7-string, and it's pretty microphonic lipstick pups love to amplify this. I'll have to find a solution.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:44 amCouch came through with some alternative material for the tabs on my straps. Re: Show Yer Straps
Easiest one I found was to glue a tab-shaped piece of 2mm hobby felt sheet to the inside of the end tabs. Cured it great.Flurko wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 1:12 pmI just thought of your post about squeaky couch straps, I didn't notice it with my other guitars but my purple seatbelt couch strap squeaks like hell on my 7-string, and it's pretty microphonic lipstick pups love to amplify this.
