One nice thing about an external tap pedal is that you can put it somewhere more convenient than the pedal itself or, as Parry suggested, use one tap switch to control multiple pedals.

Totally. The back row of my board is delays and reverb. I built a small, horizontal 2-button tap that lives in my front row, tucked under a taller OD (also horizontal). Right footswitch controls tap for my DD7 and DD8, the the left footswitch terminates the loop on my RC1. Works great.cestlamort wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 6:13 amOne nice thing about an external tap pedal is that you can put it somewhere more convenient than the pedal itself or, as Parry suggested, use one tap switch to control multiple pedals.

This is basically what I intend to do, too, with the FS-7 currently hooked up to DDs. As nice as all those extra controls are, this will take up less space and be quite cheaper

I just got off a call with Peach Guitars
My RE-2 and 202 should be with me tomorrow!!
Apparently they only got 3 RE-202 in the first batch, and I was lucky enough to get one. Not a lot in the first shipment for any stores apparently.

Has anyone else got one of these?
I put in a deposit with Peach within a day or two of the release announcement, but the latest email update i got from them, just this week, is “another 6 months or so”.
No retailers here in Australia have them.
I’m a bit surprised the backlog hasn’t been filled by now - it seems they are being made in pretty small batches

Re: "FUCKING YES!" - the Boss RE-2 hype thread
I kind of forgot about this thread. I guess a sort of update is in order? This was a month or two ago, now... but I picked up an RE2 and lived with it for a few weeks. In spite of trying... it really didn't work for me. I did the things... moved it around in my chain, used it in isolation... engaged the secret boost function - used it with and without... I just couldn't get it to work with my sound. I'd think I was getting it sounding okay at home, Then I'd go to band and it was very, ugh...
It's been a bit now, but I remember thinking the repeats weren't as present as I'd have liked (probably biased from using the DD7 and DD8 for so long) and the signal seemed either too muddied and muffled with the tone dialed back or ice-pick bright everywhere else.
Too bad. I was really excited for this one.

Don't feel too bad, a few years ago and before prices went really nuts, I had a vintage RE-201 in pretty good shape but I could never get along with it and sold it off. I ended up with a Fulltone TTE a few years after that that I enjoy a lot more.parry wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 5:09 am

Re: "FUCKING YES!" - the Boss RE-2 hype thread
I get that! Most of the time, I have a decent sense of whether or not a pedal is going to stay within the first 3 minutes. I fought this one for three weeks, hahahaha. I feel like I gave it its due. It either works for you, or it doesn't. And when you have context (a band) and limited pedalboard space, it makes it all the easier to nope-out.hulakatt wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 5:29 amDon't feel too bad, a few years ago and before prices went really nuts, I had a vintage RE-201 in pretty good shape but I could never get along with it and sold it off. Yeah, perhaps the best thing for me to do is forget about it too. Maybe in a year or so there will be some decent used ones turning up.

I’m in the fence with the 202. I’ve read some pretty mixed reviews and find the demos online to be a bit meh. Has anyone here gotten one and fallen in love with it, or should I steer clear?
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
