Those UDOs sound incredible, there's just no getting around that. I'm so stoked for you. That and the ASM Hydrasynth are the most interesting recent synths out there, IMO. Man, the demos I've heard of those UDOs...

It's super cool, and surprisingly affordable. It has poly aftertouch, too!Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 5:27 amYou're not kidding. The second I heard the binaural offset in a demo, I was like "want!". I've never heard demos of the Hydrasynth, I'll have to look that up!

Behringer just announced a Jupiter-8 clone.
I bet it comes out before the UB-Xa does.

So, I emailed UDO about a factory cover for the Super 6, and they said that they don't make them, but that they've partnered with a company who does. It turns out that this company, Decksaver, also makes one for Moog Matriachs. So, I bought one of each

Everyone see this? https://www.synthtopia.com/content/2021 ... n-effects/ Sequential Take 5. 5 voices of Prophet in a Pro 3 box. $1250.

I didn't notice at first but apparently it can be used WYSIWYG and then to access the presets you put it into preset mode (like my Juno 106). I've been holding out for whichever Behringer poly makes it to the market first but this is tempting.

Yeah, it's also got a ton of effects and "vintage knob" for analog detune. It does look very nice.redchapterjubilee wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 5:00 amEveryone see this? https://www.synthtopia.com/content/2021 ... n-effects/ Sequential Take 5. 5 voices of Prophet in a Pro 3 box. $1250.

Re: The Synth Thread...
They came the other day!!! I am really loving the Decksaver covers. A single piece of vacuum-formed plastic, where it doesn't touch the knobs, and where water can only roll off the side if there was a spill. And the best part? They are clear, so you can still see the cool looking synths while they are protected.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:19 amSo, I emailed UDO about a factory cover for the Super 6, and they said that they don't make them, but that they've partnered with a company who does. I got one for my Drumbrute Impact too!

I've been wanting one of these for several years now. I put myself on the list, but for two years in a row he's sent me all the emails EXCEPT the one letting us know they're ready to buy. Happened the first time, I emailed him, we talked, and then the next year it happened again. So I'm certainly not holding my breath for this guy to come through for me.
Today I saw this video. And what a wonderful thing to have directions on rolling one's own! It'd be trivial to give it 8 or even 12 keys. What the OM-1 has over this one IMO is the cv input. Not knowing much about cv other than that it stands for "control voltage" and the obvious information the name conveys, somehow I doubt it's terribly complicated and I'm sure the internet's vast resources can school me.
Where this DIY job beats the OM-1 in my book is the use of the cheapest, most easily available tape recorder that exists brand new rather than a specific and relatively expensive Sony model that drives availability. So, this is now on my "to make" list. Cool that I don't have to wait indefinitely for some guy to deign to sell me one.

Re: The Synth Thread...
New Roland JX-08 coming soon... a miniature JX-8P with more polyphony and plenty of sliders onboard. Unlike the original which had one, or you could buy a separate programmer.
I preordered one. There's a great freebie plugin, and I have it, but hardware wins every time.
