Re: Post pictures of your Jazzmaster or Jaguar with Alternative Pickups
I'll post two completed and two in-progress...
The picksups are GFS gold foils in HSS configuration. (The neck pickup looks like a humbucker but it's a single coil.) One of the pots is a shadowkill killswitch and the other is a push-push coil-split for the bridge humbucker. The glow-in-the-dark chickenhead knob is a varitone with a bunch of oil and water Soviet capacitors. The switch is a six-way freeway switch.
The pickups on this one are Gibson P-94s.
I've got a six-way Freeway switch on this one; concentric pots for volume and tone; TESI killswitch; there are two onboard delays with a bunch of extra mini-toggles for on/off and an attempt a running the delays in series or parallel; the roller pots control the delay effects. The goldfoil P90 and the hot rails are humbuckers that have some split, phase, and series/parallel options via the Freeway.
This has a set of Dragonfire lipsticks running through a 10-position Freeway. There are fairy light LEDs under the pick guard that have created an unintentional feature of pulsating interference drone tones when on.

Looks awesome! I have been searching for an almost black purple metallic or small metal flake paint. Could you tell me what this finish is?Vendetagainst wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 11:15 amI recently finished my dream guitar! It's in a metallic purple finish, and it has an aluminium neck. The electronics from my old Strat.

Thanks so much! The colour is from Warmoth and it's called Purple Frost. Not sure about the exact name of the paint they use, but I'm sure if you ask them they can let you know.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 5:31 pmLooks awesome! As far as a JB counts as alternative, at least.
What bridge swap did you do on this? I have one of the Jags from this series, and want to do something similar to it, but a lot of stuff about bridge swaps online is theoretical or they just post pictures, but I've heard that for a lot of bridges you need to relocate the bridge thimbles.

Thanks! That's what's called a "happy accident" finish! The theory is that the Behr Sage Green stain/sealer reacted weird with the finish or the buffing and caused this checkering effect. Lomic Guitars did up this body for me and I think he has an idea of how to re-create this effect. Here's his Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lomic_guitars/

Thanks! I didn’t know Warmoth offered a color like that but haven’t looked at their site in ages.Vendetagainst wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:06 pmThanks so much! I keep trying to decide between Toyota or Audi colors like “Dark Amethyst” or custom classics like “Plum Crazy.”

.
So many cool pickup choices and guitar color styles. I wanted to hit a 'like' button on them all.
Much more creativity in modding Offsets than any other guitar style out there.
Tele/LP/Strat owners worry too much about 'this might change my tone' ... and yet that's the point of most mods.
... and yeah, include the Mustangs/etc

So many amazing guitars on this thread!
Not an offset, but jm pickups on a tele.

Nice guitar, but kind of the total inverse of the rest of the thread - and "alternative" guitar with typical JM pickups!
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

@Tweedledee This couple is absolutely gorgeous! I have a mustang body sitting in my basement, it's routed for jm pickups and I already have a mint guard for it. Every time I see these, it makes me go along those lines with the color.
