Re: Yamaha samouraï 12 strings guitar !
So, I have found a donor guitar for this project at last:
Now the question is: Will I have the guts to part it out?
Mnn... no. And I love to play this short scale so...
(even the serial number is cool).

Don't do it! That's awesome, 'donor guitars' have something wrong with them!frelonvert wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:47 am

I never knew I needed one of these before, but bought some original late sixties Yamaha leaflets/catalogues on Ebay the other week for a steal, and now I want everything in them. The wedge amps, these guitars in every version. Glorious!

Dirty for sure, Frets are tiny (original) and low... neck more on the thin side. But the Coral red color is amazing something like 70's horror movie blood ... and the feeling is great, great mojo, light... great fun to play!

Haha, you've fallen down the hole. I had the same thing recently with an amp project- I found another of the same model to supply missing and hard-to-find parts, then couldn't bring myself to cannibalise one to fix the other. End result further down the track- two amps, both up & running.frelonvert wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:47 am

amazing, yeah that coral red is just too cool. I'm starting to regret not putting a bid in now!

Wow! Please don't take that one apart! I'm still torn about restoring my quite heavily modified SG-3C but in all fairness. I rather see mine being parted out even more to save this SG-3a.

Just acquired a 12string SGA - any idea what sort of modern case might fit? Good luck with restoration by the way!
