How did you make the face plate?

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
Thanks Jim! Graphics are just printed on heavier weight paper and then Mod Podged onto the enclosure. Thin layer under the paper and then built up a few layer over top.eldredjames wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 1:16 pmNo need to answer I found your web site by following your user profile.eldredjames wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 11:14 amWow , love that build! Did you make all the boards and the face plate yourself? Either way, it is such a nice build! Any sound samples available? I'd love to build one of these.
Expect my order soon, as soon as I check out the rest of your stuff.

Finished my first build over the weekend. Lots to do better next time, but it's working well!

Great looking! Is that a slide-off for the design?

Nice first build! Did the kit come with a schematic of the circuit by chance? Always been interested in how EQD tackled the modulation.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 2:04 pmFinished my first build over the weekend. Lots to do better next time, but it's working well!

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
Thanks. Ha, funny you ask about the schematic! Had a few issues getting it to work and reached the stage where I thought I had a faulty circuit board so asked for the schematic. EQD trade secret apparently!storyboardist wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:57 amNice first build! Did the kit come with a schematic of the circuit by chance? Got it working by adding a wire in the end.

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
I just built my first ever guitar effect - a Musikding "Der Angel". It all looked good but... it doesn't make any sound. I guess I will have to check again if there are no soldering errors, if all the parts work properly and... worst possibility, I hope if that's the case I have not ruined anything: if the DC connector is not soldered wrong.
But other than that: it was a lot of fun and a Fuzz is next

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
A quick question: how do you solder your 3PDT switches? Do you use cables or a wiring board for that? If so, any tips on sources for good wiring boards that also have the possibility to connect the LED and resistor?
EDIT: I found a set on musikding.de - fixes a lot of problems for me...

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
i seen this kit and it sounds pretty cool but part of me really wants to add a push to make footswitch so i can self oscillate at the push of a button.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 2:04 pmFinished my first build over the weekend. Lots to do better next time, but it's working well!

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
Seconded for the question. I've got a couple clones of things myself, and would love to design some decals for them. I can screw around in Illustrator, but for me, there's a gap between Illustrator designs for fun, and actually getting a decal printed...s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 3:24 pmok. quick question but how do ya'all do decals? like how do you actually design them?

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
I use water slide decal paper printed with an inkjet printer. I then clearcoat over it. They look best with a dark border. Otherwise the edge of the decal is really apparent.
I generally draw and color the artwork by hand then scan it. My wife will usually help out with laying and sizing text for controls.
