my band is writing an ep

Post by mewithoutus » Thu May 24, 2007 11:42 pm

and i decided to put up a demo of one of the songs so people can give feedback. its folky kind of stuff, but its funny cuz this song is totally a standout like outcast from the rest of the fuzzed out dance rock on the ep. haha.

check it out.

I dig the singing a lot! Quite nonchalant and charming.
But you sure the song really needs a solo?

Cheers, M

thanks dude. not a fan of the solo?

haha i didnt plan on that at all, i was tracking and it just kinda came to me. its nothing fancy, but it adds kind of a cool country feel to it i think. i dig the solo. if it were too flashy i might have left it out.

thanks for the compliment!!! :D :D :D

I really like that. Tbh, hand claps are just amazing in almost any song.

Not sure about the very end of the solo tho, i like it up until then, but i don't feel it finishes well.

I just LOVE handclaps! About the solo: not that I dislike it -  just felt it didn't really add very much.

Anyway, success with the EP!

:)

Still having fun at the Music Store?

Definately, i don't mind the solo in there, i just think it goes a little way ward towards the end thats all. I look forward to hearing a more complete version of the song  :)

I don't care for the solo much either.  It would probably be good if it were a quick bars or two and then back but its a bit much like this.  Otherwise a very cool song.  Excellent vocals too.

thanks!!! you like the vocals? its almost my first time actually recording a song with me singing. i dont have much faith in myself as a singer.

SO THE SOLO SUCKS OKAY. haha. i didnt even mean to have a solo, im not a soloist as you can probably gther from that solo thingy.

It's good to hear that the hand claps are staying  8). I think you should see how stripped back you can get it tho. I don't think theres to much wrong with it as it is, i'm sure it can be improved upon but i do like the basic sound to it.

And the vocals are good. Not technically brilliant but they definately have a character and charm.

I would like the solo more if you used the fuzzed out Jagmaster and then just held the last note until it died out. ;D
It sounds cool, great start!
