Re: Setup of the day
I needed a stand for my new keyboard so bought the "Nord Stand Ex" which, after arriving and a lot of head-scratching, turns out doesn't fit the one particular model I bought still, I managed to fit it with judicial use of brain power and 3M dual lock. This is my current "work station" on the rug...

Re: Setup of the day
My wife and I like watching those "rate or roast my rig"-type videos. And our highest positive criteria is "how condusive does that space look for making music, efficiently, without being clinical and sterile?" That looks like a pretty great music making space you have there.
And forgive me, folks, I've been hopping from board to board lately, trying to see what inspires me. I think I overshot on "textural/ambient" and ended up at a goddamn Jesus Board. But since I grew up Catholic, what's the penance for that? Learning how to play blackgaze?
Updated VM Jag, my nice JM, and a ZT Lunchbox. It's still early, I don't wanna piss off the neighbors.

I love it: fuzz fuzz fuzz delay delay delay reverb reverb reverb
That Caline reverb isn’t subtle. And the TE-2… can’t wait to hear what you’re making with all these layers of space

Thank you. That's actually the only portion of that room that's conducive to a calm mind for creativity. The rest of the room is utter chaos. It's probably about 14'x8' and currently contains:MrShake wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:36 amMy wife and I like watching those "rate or roast my rig"-type videos. 1x work desk for my wife for work from home days + chair
2x Ikea Kallax cube racks (1 on top of each other) for storage - mostly shoes and handbags, a few drawers for my clutter.
1x workbench/painting table for me to paint for work or work on guitars/amps/etc. This permanently has 987456029341203 things on it
1x under the bench full of spare amps, extension leads, a metal cabinet full of pedals and parts and other junk
1x the rug with amp/keyboard/etc as pictured
1x nook I keep 2x gigbags in
Plus all the walls are covered in artwork, and guitars/ukulele/mandolin/etc all hanging from them
The whole house is like that, truth be told. Like a carefully curated thrift store. At least, that's what I tell myself to excuse the hoarding

Re: Setup of the day
I found one!
Found it less than 4 miles away and from someone I kinda already knew. Traded £100 and a spare Boss PH-3 for it. That takes my small collection to a 1982 Cube Bass 60, a 1983 Cube 40 and now this 1983 Cube Chorus. I haven't played it really as the music room has, yet again, been taken over (this time by the kittens though so I ain't too angry

Excellent! Have fun with the kittens and the cube, in that order.JSett wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:19 amI found one!

I'm kicking myself now that I didn't snap up that one that was only £100 a while back. A stereo amp set-up with dual choruses could be immense.

Thanks! Yeah I'm pleased. I have a few more on my lookout (one of the purple ones for sure).UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:30 pmExcellent! Have fun with the kittens and the cube, in that order.

From what I can tell you can run out the chorus separately into another amp/cab as a wet signal to get that JC120 thing going on, have you tired that?

Re: Setup of the day
No, I haven't. I thought you could do something like that with the reverb, but not the chorus. Must look for a manual online.
I'm interested to hear your verdict on the much-maligned overdrive.

Re: Setup of the day
Yeah, the Reverb/Chorus OUT on the back can be routed to a second amp so you can wet/dry it. Pages 3 & 4 in this manual confirm. I will test it when the kittens are sorted in a few weeks.UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:21 pmNo, I haven't. As for the overdrive, it's okay. There's much better out there for sure but I am a fan of the Roland/Boss overdrive sound for the most part. This amp is a lot darker than my 40 but both have a nice crispy plexi-like character if you just let it get a little dirty. I'm not hugely fussy about overdrive tones though...as long as it's got that basic kinda rock n roll light drive available with no mid-hump I can usually make it work & enjoy it.
Also, I can make it do the perfect Billy Bragg tone, so *blows tongue* to the haters

Re: Setup of the day
Yeah, I'm not someone who can decipher schematics, but it seems a reasonably safe bet that Roland would have just used one of their pedal circuits in the overdrive channel, which makes all the hate I've read over the years somewhat baffling.
One thing I've found is that you really need to go close to maxing out the normal channel gain for it to come into its own.

LP into the boards
into the Roland Tape delay -> '65 Fender tube Reverb-> '62 Fender 6G2 Princeton

This isn’t some kind of metaphor

Re: Setup of the day
Got an American Sound to use as eq for home demos into the computer. Plays nicely with the JMP Eleven & the fuzz. Way cheaper than a attenuator/cab sim that I was originally looking at and does the job.
