2024 MIJ FSRs (Kinko, Ishibashi etc)
Thought I'd make a new thread to keep an eye on new releases coming out of Japan.
First bit of good news is more Sherwood Green and Inca Silver on the way from Kinko.

Oh man I was just about to start a 65 spec jazzmaster build in sherwood green but maybe I'll pivot that to prototype 50s build and pick one of these up instead

I don't know if I should get one of these or a USA 62 RI or a AV65...

These will be cheaper, but I guess the only real difference is nitro/poly at this stage.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 12:35 amI don't know if I should get one of these or a USA 62 RI or a AV65...

I can vouch for the Inca Silver model I got from the last batch. Quality and craftsmanship is second to none. Binding on the neck is flawless with no visible or touchable lip/gap between wood and binding.
Electronics great also with the American pickups, pots etc. I am changing the pickups on mine as I want something more akin to my '62 Jaguar, but the stock ones are good.
Neck profile is like a slim U shape, quite unusual but fills the hand nicely even though it's quite narrow. Very comfortable.
Fits in nicely with the family, and I'm not scared to leave the house with it, so I'd give the guitar a solid 10/10 for a modern production Fender Jaguar. For reference I would have given my stock American Original a 7/10 when I first got it.

Thanks GreenKnee. That’s helpful…. For my GAD. That’s right, GAD. D is for disease.

Ugh, I already had to talk myself out of a Sherwood Jaguar back in September...now I have to do it again. I have a modified AO60s Jag that I love and I can't justify two almost identical mid-60s style Jaguars.

Haha same here, I have a Johnny Marr Jag so I had to have the same talk with myself.

I really want that Inca Silver joint. Luckily I sated my Sherwood fixation with my recent partsguar and upcoming telecaster.

I hear a rumour from a relatively decent source that there's other colours on the horizon too

The Kinko FSR’s are some of the best new Fenders I’ve ever played. I’ve had 4 I think come through at this point. Don’t sleep on these!
