Re: NAD - '62 Fender Bandmaster
For 6g15 sounds, the Gomez is as good as it gets.
I use a surfybear now that they have their own matched pan, but it lacks a certain warmth. It’s awesome in its own right, but it’s different, for sure.
I am a sg101 alum too. I don’t use the platform anymore, as I’m not in that world any longer, and it was a relatively bad experience, leaving it behind.
Cheers to the 62 and your whole brown collection.

Re: NAD - '62 Fender Bandmaster
Thanks! I've got 2 SurfyBear Classics (one with the new SurfyPan). I've got a SurfyPan also installed in my Fender "Custom" VIbrolux - sounds great. I also have the Compact Reverb on my primary board - sounds great, too. Funny enough, my favorite reverb is the darker toned stuff from Mr. Black pedals - I love the Deluxe Plus (reverb & tremolo) and recently acquired his Super Swell (just surfy reverb, but dark).
I was fortunate to snag a '64 Fender Reverb Unit (with the raised logo). It'll be one of the last things to go when I can't play anymore hopefully in like, 20-30 years.
I only really read the Gear and For Sale sections as I'm not playing out anymore. I still love surf music but I've been delving back into my old punk stuff as well as early alternative stuff. I do love some of the modern era surf or instrumental bands out there like Satan's Pilgrims and Tremolo Beer Gut (amazing music).
Thanks, Chipper!

Video demo!
Sorry for the abrupt ending - my primary camera isn't working and my backup is a Canon PowerShot that only lasts about 10 minutes.

Sounds great! I’ve also never listened to a demo of the surfybear reverb but it sure sounds like a fender in your demo. I may need to snag one of those someday.
Oh yah, this is mine.

Thanks! Yeah, in the demo that was my first SurfyBear Classic with the regular Accutronics pan. My other SurfyBear Classic came with the SurfyPan (I believe SurfyBear commissioned Accutronics to make this version - shorter tail).redchapterjubilee wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 3:59 amSounds great! Tremolux is slightly smaller.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:47 amI need to see if a '60s Fender Tremolux head has the same measurements as the Bandmaster.

Re: NAD - '62 Fender Bandmaster
WoW, thanks for taking the time to take the photos and measurements, much appreciated, Dan!
I had another play (when I made the demo) and the amp sounds great, even when cranked up a bit. Maybe the speakers just needed some settling in or something. The amp could probably do with a check up since I have no idea if it's ever been serviced. Super happy this plan came together in any case.

Awesome project, Surfy. Def not how I would have approached the project but I like the spin you put on it. Hope you're getting a lot of good use out of it.
A lot of beautiful amps in this thread. Theres a '69 bandmaster head on my local craigslist I haven't seriously considered but you guys might make me change my mind...
just kidding I don't have that kind of money lol

Re: NAD - '62 Fender Bandmaster
Thanks! I had the option to have Armadillo Amps build me a 3-speaker sized combo cabinet to replicate the '60 Fender Bandmaster - https://ampwares.com/amplifiers/fender/ ... andmaster/ but at the time I wasn't thinking about making it a recreation of the '60 Bandmaster. I had recently moved on my Vibro King 3x10 combo, which was a heavy beast (73 lbs). That might have been a factor in my decision-making as to what have built at the time even though the '60 Bandmaster is likely lighter.shoegaze_head wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 12:15 pmAwesome project, Surfy. I wanted something akin to an early'60s Fender Super (2x10 combo). if I ever find myself fortunate to get an early '60s Fender Super (brownface/2x10) chassis, I can pop it into this Super-appropriate sized combo cabinet and sell this '62 Bandmaster chassis for someone interested in doing a proper restoration (blonde head & 2x12 cab rig).
Funny enough, I do find myself fighting the urge to get an early '60s Fender Concert (4x10 combo), weighing in at a healthy 55 lbs.
