Thanks for this!
Another guy on this forum told me the same thing so I contacted UC3 allready for some information.
Good luck with your guitar!

Re: The ARIA 1802t/1803t - EPIPHONE ET 270 DATABASE
Hello gents,
I got myself an Aria 180xx without pickguard, pickups etc. but otherwise in pretty good condition, apart from the bridge that is pretty shot. Anybody here have experience on bridge substitutes? I'm thinking about a jazzmaster/jaguar style bridge, which I believe would thicken the tone a little bit compared to the original, plastic roller-thing.

I never tried this kind of substitution myself, but I believe it should be possible as those bridges look pretty similar, except for the radius (probably 9.5" on your Matsumoku bridge).brinnbacka wrote:Hello gents,

Do you plan to change the whole bridge or only the saddles?
Regarding the sound, I believe that the metal bridge will sound brighter than the plastic roller saddles, which can be an improvement on these guitars.

This might not be of a great interest except for the french people here.
These two pictures show an early rehearsal of The Dogs, legendary french band from Rouen, Normandy.
The pics are from 1973. The first single from the Dogs would come out 4 years later.
Dominique Laboubée would later be permanently associated with his precious Rickenbacker, but we now have the proof that one of his first guitars if not the very first was this Aria 1802t.

I'm changing the whole bridge. It looks as I would not need to do too much woodwork to fit in the new one, so I figured it'll be the easiest option. Also, the piece of metal that carries original plastic rollers is really not firmly set on anything, but floating on the bridge edges with screw attachment, so that surely does its part in killing whatever sustain/low end is left after the plastic bits. 9.5" looks about right to me as well. I'm installing only the neck pickup, which will be Lollar Gold Foil. I can post some pics later on when the project goes forward.

Some version for sale close to me. Much like the 1803t except for the more Mustang-like covered pickups. It's a shame they cut the body up.

Re: The ARIA 1802t/1803t - EPIPHONE ET 270 DATABASE
Hi. Newbie questions: did Matsumoko have their own in-house name for this design? And does anyone know if the Eros models imported to the UK had any catalogue name/number given them by Rosetti?
If either of these are answered elsewhere, apologies.
Background: I bought an Eros 2-pup model second-hand from Johnny Roadhouse* in Manchester in 1985. Kept it for over a decade - during which time I bought and sold several other 'name' guitars - until the 'music room' had to become 'the nursery'. But, y'know, now the kids are all growed up . . .
This thread is fantastic, btw.
* Back in the days when "second-hand from Johnny Roadhouse" usually meant "stolen".

I'm going to pick a pristine 1803t up today which means I'll be selling my 1803t with EMG in the bridge (with an original pickup included). Unless I like the emg better . Anyone interested before I put one up for sale?

Re: The ARIA 1802t/1803t - EPIPHONE ET 270 DATABASE
Hello to all
I'm new here and I'm working on an Aria 1802t which is complete but has been possessed by a punk who has repaint it as a real punk : without unmount any piece and covering the original white colour with an horrible purple heavy paint, and the best, a giant duck sticker at the rear of the guitar. Horrible design but I wanted to keep it as a mark of this guitar life. I've started a refretting job, no problem from this side.
My principal problem comes from the pickups. Befor unmounting, there was no sound on any position. I've tested the pickups with my ohm meter and nothing! So I decided to keep out the plastic cover and I saw that the 2 pickups were damaged! The bobin wire are broken for twice maybe an old operation made by a punk worker
So, is there anybody here who have 2 pickups to sell? Mine are 2nd generation with the rounded covers.
Thanks a lot in advance

They work perfectly.
I'm at work at the moment. I can post a picture of them this evening or tomorrow.
The way your text is constructed (the rythm) makes me think you could be French, which would make our deal easy if you're interested.
