Super drool worthy. The only change I'd make is an F neck plate.

Thanks! Yes, I nearly went that route, but because Shields’ is likely a factory refin 63-64, I decided to be more period correct. Couldn’t find a reputable maker of serial number plates so I just went with a fender roadworn branded one. Which was a big joke, because any wear they put on the thing was on the inside lol.
All in all, an F logo will look cooler. However, maybe even thought of just doing the tape and tuning thing that’s actually on Shields guitar below, but instead put my own message on it.

I like the idea of masking tape plus something written on it. Probably something cooler than "EADGBE".

MJT was kind enough to weigh it for me and it clocks in and 7.1lbs. I’m very happy about that

I love this build. When I saw MBV, it was so freaking loud I tried to put cash in my ears.

Thanks! That’s cool man. Never got to see MBV live. But I did catch Slowdive. No other concert stands up to that.
It’s been a while since I posted anything on this guitar but it’s been my #1 since I had it built. It’s got quite a few more dings and checks since I got it. It totally rips. Crazy good behind the bridge notes. Excellent sustain and girth for a JM. I attribute that to the darker antiquities and the mastery. Definitely the darkest JM I’ve ever owned, but in a good way

Slowdive - man how I love them. I’ve never seen them live and I hope to change that. I wore out my Souvlaki CD and their eponymous release in 2017 was amazing. Do you like Ride? I’m gonna see them in February in Boston.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:11 pmThanks! That’s cool man. Never got to see MBV live. But I did catch Slowdive. Regarding your build, holy hell that’s gorgeous. Glad to hear it’s going strong.

Yeah man. Ride is pretty good although I don’t listen to them as much.RBJM wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:24 pm
