Lately I've been really digging the Axe FX AC30 model, makes me wish I had room for a real one.

Re: Favorite amp for Jazzmaster
I think Jazzmasters were made for Fender Twins.. I love the sound thru mine! But, sound especially good with Fender Amps!
But, nowadays, when I play out it’s usually with my 65 DRRI or 65 PRRI.. Lately the 65 PRRI gets used the most.. Sounds great, does the job & easy to travel with…..

My favorite small amp for JM or Jag is a NJ made Sano 160R. Like jumping into a warm swimming pool with nice tremolo and spring reverb. Sounds great when pushed a bit. I had one years back, stupidly sold it, but just found another one. For bedroom volume stuff, I still like the Vibro Champ.

AC30 here. Plexis and Tweeds are also really nice pairings in my opinion.

Gonna have to chime in and say that the low end and air of Super Reverb really does wonders for a jazzmaster. That's the amp that made me fall in love with jazzmasters, it's just a massive pain to haul around.

I think, if it had Reverb, the BF VibroChamp would probably be the greatest home amp ever made. Or if the Princeton was only 5w.

I dunno, I have a drip edge Champ and it may be the greatest home amp ever made. Occasionally, I miss having tremolo on the amp but never missed having reverb on it.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 8:12 amI think, if it had Reverb, the BF VibroChamp would probably be the greatest home amp ever made. I think the new Supro amps have a Supro Super with reverb? Have you checked out one of those?
I'm also super interested in the Swart Space Tone Reverb but have little interest in the tremolo version?

Re: Favorite amp for Jazzmaster
See, I'm not a huge user of reverb, but occasionally like just a touch while I'm playing clean twinkly stuff (like 2 or 3 on the dial) to myself. Tremolo I use a LOT, and always have one on my board. So, for me, if the VibroChamp - with its already glorious sounding bias trem - had the option of a little Reverb in there too...it'd be the ultimate grab and go amp around the house. Reverb and Tremolo are the two 'Fender' classics. Probably why the VC reissue has it...it's a shame they messed with other things too much, and used a digital reverb instead of a little pan (which there is definitely room for in the bottom). At the moment I'm just resorting to a pedal which is fine but just adds an extra layer of fucking about if I want to relocate to a different room for a bit.hulakatt wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 1:47 pmI dunno, I have a drip edge Champ and it may be the greatest home amp ever made. I might have a different opinion if my house had any rooms big enough for some natural reverb but they're all quite small and very dead sounding

Re: Favorite amp for Jazzmaster
I’ve heard the STR and STR Tremolo have a slightly different character. I have the latter and it’s great. I like the tremolo a lot.
What has really surprised me the most about my Swart amps is how un-polite they can be (in a good way).
