I'm going to replace my E-Mu 0404, with what?
Hello, guys! I am looking for a decent USB audio interface for home recording around $300.
I have E-Mu 0404 USB, but it doesn't work so well on Windows 10. So I'd like to find something close to the level.
What about Presonus Studio 24C or 26?
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

I replaced mine with a Behringer UMC204HD - £80 four years ago; probably cheaper now - and didn't notice any nosedive in audio quality.

I’ve had a scarlet 4 input usb for about 7 years....despite the work flow flaws it sounds great with Studio One.
Also, for a cheap way...check TEMU . I bought two different interfaces for my laptop into Studio One and it works just fine.

The main problem I have with it is the Scarlet mix software...this is the routing software that routes the signals into the DAW or in my case Studio One....I do not think on the newer Scarlet stuff they even have this any more...I have a Gen 1 model. You need to set up the mix software so it ingrates into the your recording software....I have documented this on the OSG board a few times. I always had trouble setting it up correctly, but once it was set up then you are good to go....once again this my Gen 1 model...egor95 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 5:16 amThanks. I would recommend it...but maybe the Gen 3 stuff.....
I would also check on TEMU....like I posted I bought two usb interfaces for podcast stuff....but they worked fine with guitars into Studio One using Ampire guitar software.

Focusrite has always done me alright for home stuff.
I would avoid TEMU for everything just because it's widely documented that they use forced, or sometimes even actual slave, labor in their factories and we should all morally reject that

Yeah, it's worth a little deep diving via Google as there is quite a lot of concerned people and growing evidence. Obviously, everyone is free to act according to their own morals and it's not my place to tell anyone what to do, but I chose not to risk it.
