Also, I’m seriously tempted to swap out the neck on my Vintera Modified Jag for a 7.25” vanilla Vintera one.

Thank you so much for the information! I have a Kurt Cobain Jaguar, a Ben Gibbard Mustang, and the Mustang 90. I really love them all but I do have to say that the Jaguar is about as great an instrument as I’ve ever owned! I have modified it a lot electronically and for my purposes it is absolutely amazing. It’s just incredible that the quality from the MIM guitars is so good!
I dearly love my Kurt Cobain (Now An Alan Cargile) Jaguar! 😎And now I have a Team of Mustang’s! And wouldn’t you know it… I love them too!

Nice guitars! I’d happily put a Cobain neck on my Vintera modified too.

The only thing that I wish was different about that neck is the truss rod adjustment is at the body. But that’s just because I’ve become very lazy in my old age!😀. It is a very good playing neck though. I prefer my necks to have a satin finish on the back so I did a little sanding on that one and now it is just so smooth and not the least bit sticky. I didn’t take hardly any finish off. It could easily be brought back to a gloss.

I love the 12" radius of my MIM '72 Tele Deluxe, probably my favorite neck. But I've gotten accustomed to my JM Jaguar's 7.5" radius, and this 7.25" Vintera neck is indiscernible from that. Sweet looks too.

That is a very nice neck! You know actually I haven’t tried a 7.25” neck in years! I might just actually like it. Hmm. That may be my next endeavor. I can go to guitar center and try one. Thanks for the push!😎

Thanks, maybe worth checking out... speaking of Guitar Center, wow that place is a ghost town these days, at least in Seattle.

I haven’t been in there in quite a while. I’m really lucky. I have another shop about the same distance away that always has a great selection and they really take care of all their instruments. They have the same prices as G C but much better customer service. I really enjoy dealing with them.

That’s great, and same here. Good local shops have a strong following, while GC feels not long for brick and mortar status.

Man, you won’t believe what I just finished doing. I decided that I wanted a tone control and a 3 way switch on my Gibbard Mustang. So I installed both! I have a tone control now and I put a switch in the same place that they are on my 90. I got really lucky too! When I started routing the body for the switch, I went about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and I routed into one of the body chambers! It was easy after that. I had to run wiring and practically rewire the whole thing but that wasn’t a problem. It sounds great and now I have a switch where I’m used to having it! I’ll put a pic link. I wish that I had taken pics during the process but I didn’t think about it.

I know nothing about the Gibbard sig Mustang. Do they come only with two volume knobs?

New neck/headstock almost matches the body now.

It has a volume control and a knob that looks like a tone control but it is a 3way pickup selector. It even says tone on it but it just has the 3 positions. There’s only those 2 controls with no switches or anything.

I put vintage style tuners on the Vintera neck 'cause that's what they're drilled for but I ended up getting the "road worn" versions. They clashed with the super chromey control plate and bridge so I've changed those out. A duller road worn plate, and a bridge I had in my parts drawer. Not sure a '90s Tele Plus bridge is sacrilege to the Mustang faithful.

It looks great. I like the bridge. Mine came stock with a Strat hardtail bridge and I like it a lot.
