Old guitar and pickups

Post by Toynbee » Fri Jan 20, 2023 6:48 am

I recently was searching for information about gold foil pickups and found some threads here. There's a lot of interest with vintage pickups. I got out some old pickups from my first guitar I got in the 1970s and was wondering if anyone else saw any pickups like these and if they're worth using. My guitar teacher at the time said the guitar was made in a shop and it looks like it has a plywood body. Pictures below.

I couldn't find the rest of the parts for the empty one. I don't know what I did with that.

Or a Segova, or an Avora, or a Gigan, or an Audition, or a Vision. It’s a Teisco made guitar so brand names don’t say that much.. :P Late 60’s / early 70’s.

Those pickups should sound great. The empty one seems to be missing all the working parts. Bet you could stuff something in there though..
You are also missing the bridge and a tuner ferrule. Both you can find over on Aliexpress, Amazon etcetera.

I have one of those I've re-purposed as a lap steel, with an extension nut. I put an old Bill Lawrence L-550 in it.
