Just got around to reading your build thread a little later than I had anticipated, but I had to stop in and say that your jagstang turned out incredible, especially with what little tools you had at your disposal. I am thoroughly impressed. The SH-4 and Texas Special will serve you well.

Hi, thx for reply.
I did my best with my tools, and I can't recommend any body to try this crazy method. It needs too much concentration.
- As you agree pickup choice .. it's what I will buy for this first body build.
Many thanks again.
Cordialement

Thank you!rock-philistine wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:46 pmHi, I've found this pic of a Jag-stang in the Guitar Shop magazine of May 97. I think it has the neck of the Red prototype or it is the full guitar (color swapped) or a completely new prototype. Edit: it looks like it could have a Dimarzio on the brigde. I hope it helps your research.
That is indeed the red prototype with a color swap. The neck there is one of the Scott Zimmerman necks. I wish that guitar still looked that pretty because when I got to see it in person, it had become a total mess. I don't know what happened to it over the years, but we believe they carved on it a bit afterwards as the production models reflected some of the changes.

Speedo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:18 amHi, first i want to thanks you for all these interesting "reverse engineering" Job.
I founded this post last year when i was about to buy last reissue of Jag-Stang.
It totally changed my way of mind, and instead of buy a Jagstang i decided to build my own body.
I did a new draw based on your v07/ production model / warmoth.
- I don't have too much tools, and i feel i can't build a neck, so i buyed used one from a friend.
It's not totally finish, but here is my version:
The whole story from scratch is here (in french) https://www.guitariste.com/forums/le-co ... 20913.html
Thanks again for your great job , and of course AcrylicSuperman too.
Sorry for the late reply, last week I had a serious setback.
@Speedo:
First of all, welcome onboard and for your words, thank you so much. It's very rewarding and heart-warming.
It give me joy to know that our work has inspired you to build your own -very cool!- Jag-stang with such a dedication.
I watched the progresses on your French thread and quite enjoyed the great work you've managed to do with not so many tools available.
I hope it's gonna be a well loved guitar once it's finished and that it will keep you inspired whilst delivering good times..
Oh... Beware, guitar building can get quite addictive!
@rock-philistine:
Thank you for the article pic, everything helps!

Hi alls.
@Amon 7.L
@AcrylicSuperman
I did some progress this week and get new parts for my project
I did'nt found any real Texas Special , but chinese fakes so i prefered a more powerfull single coil.
Now i wait for :
- Schaller bridge (STM model reverse)
- 8pins switchs.
- Pickguard plate to cut , it will be simple white at first.
Thx for your time and attention you give

Hi Speedo, if you wouldn't mind starting your own build thread rather than hijacking this one I think that would be better. If you need help moving your posts I can assist on my end.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
