Impending NGD: Random Reverb Pot Shot Offer Accepted
You're sleepy on your phone, browsing the verb, waiting for the sandman to visit. You see a guitar. You think, "eh, that's pretty nice. Price is pretty good too. Listing only up for 4 hours. Eh, here's a slight low ball offer. They won't accept. Their asking is already stupid low for what it is."
zzzz zzzz
Wake up in the morning. Open reverb to see if anything cool is listed. "Hmm, what's this in my cart. I must have tapped something on accident. Better go remove it."
Thus the buying spree continues. Crypto is down, the market is down, but guitars are flat, and flat is better than how cash is doing. So, really, if you think about it, I'm actually making a prudent investment, right? Right, guys? I'd be dumb not to.
Guitar incoming. Incidentally, I'm also going to the neurologist later today to get that new hole drilled into my head.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Gibson ES-335.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Glad to hear you had some luck with the offer. Thinking about trying my hand on this with some drum sets in the future.
Anyway, what did you get?
Vintage Guild S-100 is my guess
EDIT: Just realized this is the new and re-issue. I’m going with a AO Jazzmaster

I'll be more into the guessing game once I get confirmation that it's shipped. The low price and fast acceptance of my offer had me wondering if this is too good to be true. I did reverb payment so they get nothing until it arrives. But maybe they don't realize that.
I'm not too afraid though. The seller has a long positive track record on reverb. So here's hoping.
Goodness, this is too many guitars. I get the feeling the pricing madness is slowing.

Very similar scenario happened to me and that's how I ended up with a Bilt.

Sorry for the hijack, but that was an odd one. Did you get the story on it? I know the seller eventually said ‘74 body and ‘68 neck when they decided to drop the price to something more reasonable, but the neck blocks looked more like the smoother looking ones Fender used in the 70s. With that serial number and the matching inspection stamps on the body and neck, I wondered whether they just had a lightly modded ‘74 or ‘75.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 8:59 pmAlmost did this with a pieced together B&B Jaguar with one of those wack harmonica bridges on it for $2k

If I may, I'd like to demonstrate this thread in the medium of Simpsons reference.
Ahem.
Me: Hehehe, these guys will never guess what guitar I just bought. It could be practically anything!
Me again:
These were all solid guesses. The Guild S-100 was especially astute. But alas, Larry's seen this coming for years at this point. He'll understand the painful irony in the specific model I got too. And yes, Larry, I paid more. But thems the breaks. This inflation has got me all spendy.
Total automatic buy. It's not the color I thought I'd get one of these in. I always imagined figured burst. But I did the thing. It's happening.
And now we wait.

That looks exactly like mine. Is it a 2019?

Judging by the SN, I think it's a '21. The guy must have gotten a real sweetheart deal on it or else he's just so rich he doesn't give a crap. I'm floored that you paid what you did for yours. Buy, I think I'm reasonably ahead of the curve. If we don't bond, we don't bond. I'll be able to horse trade it into something I would like. For instance, most of the suggestions mentioned above.
I just hope I do like it. I've seen some not-so-great specimens of this model. I'm just glad it's post HJ era this time.
Y'know, Larry. It occurs to me that our collections are getting increasingly similar...
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.
