Re: Setup of the day
Today’s rig..A great friend let me borrow the Marshall and Orange to record some. Cannot believe how good proper Marshall amps sound. My first experience with them.

Do I love the galaxy sparkle JM or the Orange more? Probably the JM!
Honestly, I really prefer Marshall cleans over Fender cleans any day, they're just so much more enveloping and lively.

After playing this, Marshall cleans are where it’s at. I still prefer the cleans on my Matchless, but these cleans are just a different sound. Don’t get me wrong, I like Fender stuff too. But, Marshall would certainly be my choice
I haven’t exactly bonded with the Orange yet. I’m going to have to play it more.

Add me in for this too. Once I heard them I could never go back. Fenders sounded too neutral to me.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 8:30 amAfter playing this, Marshall cleans are where it’s at. How’s the 202? I’ve got a 201 and a 101 so I definitely don’t need it, but I think it’s a great wee design.

Re: Setup of the day
Our own SteveJamsEcono was nice enough to hook me up with a Nobels ODR-Mini and I was able to try it out for a minute this afternoon, through the little Orange at low volumes it sounds really nice, I'm excited to give it a shot with the Ampeg later.

Sorry, I missed this question.... it's great, really nails the 201 sound and the ability to have presets is a godsend. Also, the different reverb types hidden in the sub menu are a nice bonus.

Re: Setup of the day
Trying to mix it up, get out of my "offset/main board/Fender amp" norm. Channel switching is glitchy and reverb doesn't work right, but each channel sounds fantastic individually. The fuzz is the '87 Jimi Hendrix non-Face. I love it, but I don't like Fuzz Faces. A little of the gnarly fuzz and a little tremolo, and the fixed-up, downtuned Tele just oozes swampy stoner grooves whether I try or not.

Re: Setup of the day
Just got my Ampeg Micro-VR Head and Cab today to replace my GK Head and Cab, and I definitely like this way better. Also swapped out my Idiotbox No Moon for a Nobles ODR-Mini. This thing is an incredible distortion pedal for bass, highly recommended. I'm still finding out all the sounds on my L-2000 too, as there are a lot of them in there.

Trying out the newly acquired fuzz… I really like the Dr. Freakenstein bit! Guess I gotta dig around and see if I have an expression pedal stashed away somewhere…
