MJT Jazzmaster MKI
I accumulated the parts to put this one together for over a year and finally finished it this past fall. I've been enjoying it so much, I immediately starting accumulating parts for MKII. This one is a bit more traditional but MKII will be a bit more, um, updated? It's working out to share a lot of specs and parts but it's being built around a pair of Novak JM-Pafs and full Mastery parts (well the bridge, vibrato and string tee anyway.)
The only other JM I've really played was a partsocaster someone else built that I traded for on a whim that was bright, screechy and felt like I was playing a bass, traded it off again quickly but never lost the bug for one. This one is mellow, fat and has a very wide fidelity to it. It's like someone took my favorite strat and made everything about it, a little bit better.
This one includes:
MJT body
Allparts CBS strat neck
Gotoh aged nickel tuners
Mastery bridge and vibrato
Callaham neck plate, screws, strap buttons and round string tee
Rumpelstiltskin 62-ish pickups
traditional wiring scheme
aged mint Fender pickguard
Fender aluminum shield
Original Fuzz strap

Well thank you, darling! You know, IBM wouldn't have been my first choice but dang, does it work! The rhythm circuit isn't muffled at all but just darker and mellowed out.

Well that’s damn cool looking. How does she sound? Love that strap too - may I ask where one can find such an item?

She sounds amazing! Big, fat and mellow all the way through to hifi and cutting. It's such a wide range and wide fidelity guitar and very flexible.Norrin Radd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:44 pmWell that’s damn cool looking. How does she sound? Are those decals or stenciled paint on the body? They look great against the IBM! I’ve got a ‘73 with a sonic blue refinish that I’ve thought about livening up with some patterns. This is inspiring.

i don't think i have any pictures that are easy to share, but i also have a floral pattern finish on my parts jazzy. i've actually been wanting to redo it and go for something more minimal like this (and was also thinking pink, but on black)... definitely inspired.
and i love the pink on blue with a mint guard–that's an excellent color combo!

Re: MJT Jazzmaster MKI
I just found these ones on ebay looking for cherry blossom decals. If I had sprayed the body myself, I would like to have applied the decals before a few final coats of clear, they're a little thin and fragile but not anywhere that should take too much abuse.

Very nice Jazzmaster. Love the finish, but love even more your willingness to put a cool touch with the vinyl.
I also love the Original Fuzz. They’re my favorite strap maker. I’ve been rocking my black velvet one from them for a few years

I've been in love with OF straps for a few years now and they're the only straps I have one any of my gear now.
