NAD - Hermetic Audio Tweed Harvard
Just got this in from Hermetic Audio (THANK YOU FORUM MEMBER< HEXES).
Tweed Harvard Circuit in a 5e3 cabinet. The handiwork is just spectacular.
I am simply blown away. Soundwise it is tighter in bass and quieter up the dial than a 5e3 yet retains the tweedy goodness.
Cleans sparkle. Cranked Rocks.
I'll post more as things develop. I have only had it for a few hours.

WOAH you have a high spirit?! I LOVE that guitar. I am so happy you like the amp. It's my first that isn’t going to a close friend. I will gladly admit I like the overdrive characteristic a bit better on this compared to my brown princeton I made, so now I’m going to mod the princeton a bit to get closer to this.

Oh yeah, the High Spirit is great, it's been the only guitar I have played for months now. I went against my normal preference and had him put a fatter neck on it and to my surprise the hype was real and I find it super comfortable. The hotdog pickups are pretty great too. They are P90 like but maybe a little less angry.

Such a great circuit. I have a tweed Vibrolux (5F11) made by Goodsell that has quickly become my favorite amp of the last very long time.

I really appreciate the 3 inputs on the Harvard. the low in is so good for apartment playing, I didn’t think I would use it If I made one for myself. I’m glad I didn’t talk Horseblanket out of the 3 inputs.peterherman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:54 amSuch a great circuit. the first I built was a 6g2 Princeton which I adore. kinda close to that tweed vibrolux. bias-vary tremolo is my favorite.

Re: NAD - Hermetic Audio Tweed Harvard
The 6G2 is a great circuit. It's good and also awful to see the brown-era amps getting their due as well. Good because they're great amps. Awful because they're totally unaffordable. I had a 6G11 Vibrolux that I put a Weber ceramic California into that would drown out 50 watt Marshalls on-stage. I was forever after a Harvard that cost less than $4k, when I started looking into the circuit and reading builders talk about the 5F10-11 circuits as basically the same. Hey presto: a 5F11 for me.hexes wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 1:44 pmI really appreciate the 3 inputs on the Harvard. the low in is so good for apartment playing, I didn’t think I would use it If I made one for myself. That green light makes me smile every time I turn it on.
Let me see if I can cook up a video for you this weekend.

The amp is an absolute party.
Nick crushed this build. I am forever grateful.

I like everything about that vid. The amp, the guitar, your kid, the music he's playing, and the Miles Davis album!horseblanket wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 3:28 pmCaught the kid in the garage noodling on the High Spirit and the Harvard.
