Thanks for the sentiment, and I'll miss him, but he lived a pretty great long life just the way he wanted to.Maggieo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 2:31 pmThat's a fantastically heartwarming story. I'm so sorry for your loss.Rockabilly69 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 1:30 pmIt’s a little birdie singing in the sun, it was a decal that belonged to my uncle Ken who passed away from Covid. I put it on the guitar as a little tribute to him as he introduced me to some really killer music as a kid.
He’d been saving that decal for years to find the perfect spot to put it, and when he passed, my cousin sent it to me. It’s from a morning classical music show called “Morning Pro Musica”.
Every summer I lived with his family in Montauk Point New York. I still visit in Montauk every summer except for 2020 because of Covid.
Montauk is a beautiful place and he walked the beaches daily. He retired at an early age and he played league softball well into his 70's. And every day he would listen to all sorts of music. When I would go to visit we would sit around the dining room table and listen to some of his favorite stuff, everything from NIck Drake acoustic stuff to Neil Young's Cortez the Killer. His two passions were baseball and music. I'm going to Montauk next week, first time since my uncle passed!
Here's a picture of us two just a few years ago.
