Ice Blue JagBlaster - Completed
While I wait for the donor guitar to arrive I'm going to start the build thread for this as I'm on the cusp of ordering the last of the parts required.
Plan is to convert a 2013 AV65 Jag into a JagBlaster. Creamery full-size WRHBs, mastery vibrato, staytrem etc.
Quick mockup...
I had plans to use Marauder moog-style switches but, after a mock-up with cardboard, decided it was going to look naff. So going with an alternative layout consisting of a "Teh Kurdtz" toggle and switch that will click up to the upper plate where a bunch of 3 sliders will control various bass/treble cuts. Just waiting on an email from Kevin at Faction to make sure we're all good for those.

Re: Ice Blue JagBlaster
Heres the wiring scheme I’m working on so far. Aiming for individually switchable bass cuts and a master ‘dark’ setting on the 3rd switch…all on the upper plate but that can be totally bypassed with the switch on the Cobain plate.
If anyone better at electronics than me (not particularly hard) sees this…please tell me if I’ve missed something obvious

Re: Ice Blue JagBlaster
So, I decided to continue with my original plan and modify this rather than my '67. So, without further ado, here's some progress...
Custom plates arrived from Faction. Nice quality and took a few weeks with shipping etc. I wasted no time loading them up with the parts...
Took a look at how much wood I'd need to lose. Not too much as luck would have it
For a freehand job, not too bad. I'll neaten that up a touch with the Dremel. You'll notice a couple of little step routs in the upper cavity...the triple slider plate needed a little extra clearance for the switches to sit properly.
...even if it is all completely hidden
Almost everything lines up perfectly ...
Looks like I'll be getting out the file. Considering that's Jag parts from two sources on a 3rd source body, that's actually not a bad result as far as fitment goes.
Pickups should land next week sometime. Then I can get to wiring it all up and seeing if the plan works.

None of the images are loading. Is that just me?

They're definitely loading for me, but I did upload them so likely in my cache. They're hosted independently so should work fine

I can see them fine, looking good!
Interested to see (and hopefully hear) the end result.
I think it was a good choice to do this to the AV65, rather than the '67.

Re: Ice Blue JagBlaster - finally, some progress.
Initial test run on the upper circuitry shows I've got it pretty backwards back to the drawing board for that.
I was trying to run a set of HP/LP filters but think I'll just go to the standard Jag strangle setup - but with a dedicated one per pickup. I thought I had the right caps but it turns out I got my decimal place in the wrong spot ordering and put in 0.03uf instead of 0.003uf. I've quickly tested one of them with the cap from the original lower switch and it works fine so I just have to wait for a couple of them to arrive. Also, the 'dark' switch needs rethinking as it's too subtle. I'll get there.
