Tremolo and delay. As much as I love gain stages (and especially my Naga Viper treble boost which would be very hard to pass on (it would be #3 if we were allowed three), tremolo and delay can do all the fun that I like to do. Delay would be Caroline Kilobyte for sure. I think the tremolo would be my EQD Hummingbird (though the Caroline Parabola would be hard to pass on as well). Since it's a desert island, I'd have no worries about neighbors complaining about the noise, so I could just crank the Princeton Reverb for any gain I want

Ergh. Either a Rat and a TR2 or a Rat and a DD-7. Being able to loop and play along to yourself would be a good way to stave off the boredom

Distortion and trem I said. Trem i feel like I can set a bunch of different ways and get a lot out of it. Distortion (could have said OD) again if it's a decent one can be pretty versatile low to high gain. If I had a third it would be delay but I think I could probably fashion a sound out of any version of my top 2 that I feel would sound like my playing.
I can also cheat and say I'll use trem from my amp and then I'd say red llama and DM2

Re: What are your ‘desert island’ guitar effects
The amp I’m bringing has tremolo and reverb sounds covered. Tremolo is an essential effect though.
Since the boost category is getting no love I’ll bring a boost - either my Creation MK 4.23 or Suhr Kokoboost since it has both flat and clean mid boost options.
Distortion gets my second vote - specifically a Rat.
In an actual desert island scenario where I’m by myself but there is somehow electricity a looper might be more appealing, but not something I have much interest in when recording is an option.

A Lovetone Big Cheese and an old Moogerfooger MF-104Z. I could get by with just those two. Dirt and delay is a magical combination that can accomplish most sounds that I like to hear.
This isn’t some kind of metaphor

Delay is really running away with this one.

I put Reverb and Delay, but I forgot about Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water. That would probably replace delay, because I need reverb always.

If I get to bring my Axe FX III, I'm good. The only pedal I need is the footswitch/controller
If I've got a tube amp - which one? Overdrive/distortion and reverb would be my two choices if I was stuck with a clean and dry amp, but if it's an amp that has those, then I'd go with a delay/looper and an octave pedal, so that I can lay down basslines and play over them. Would help stave off the inevitable insanity and volleyball conversations for a while.
No amp effects or fancy stuff….we’re going old-school here!

A tuner pedal which I can also use as a signal mute as well as a buffer

If I can run the amp hot, then a Klon and a Memory Man will be enough to cover everything.

A Fuzz that cleans up nicely and a Surfy Bear Reverb - you can change the effect order and basically have almost endless possibilities!
I'd spend many happy days on that Island....
next up would be a Trem - which happens to be already in my "Dynamic Duo" DIY-Surfy Bear pedal (does this already count as a multi effect when it's the pedal I soldered and bent and drilled together myself? ) and maybe some kind of Delay/Echo and a Tuner which really is a necessary tool and not an effect pedal!

Re: What are your ‘desert island’ guitar effects
It can flange, ive never found a phase. I have found a synth drone generator though its even a stock preset. A fuzz, omnimpressor, tremolo, it really is a multi-fx but just wired so you mostly get ambient-oriented fx except a few sort of afterthought things that can be isolated.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:22 amI would say that a Space almost qualifies as a multi effect, but what if I told you it can do Phaser effects?CorporateDisguise wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:57 amGive me a Superfuzz, a Big Muff and an eventide space or SA Ventris, and I’ll never be bored. If you’d let me have a phaser, I’d love you forever.......
Well, I think it could? It can definitely do flanger and chorus with the ModEchoReverb algorithm. Probably would not sound like an MXR 90, but you could get some comb filtering going on with reverb.
*Yeh, of course, the EHX hazarai, that is my oldest standalone and i DID only use that for a while! And i really have a core of that and a space so if a Hazarai counts id throw in some reverb pedal like a Polara or whatever is good.
