surprise NPBD - early Pedaltrain Jr.
I've been using a Nano + a long time and have been fighting the urge to go bigger for over a year. This popped up on craigslist today for a silly low price and I couldn't say no. The seller was a few minutes from my work, and in less than two hours it was in my hands.
Seems to be a pretty early one based on the old logo and lack of ports on the front. The welds are also way beefer than current production stuff and the front isn't raised as much as on the current Classic Jr. That's a big plus for me since I plan to have a volume pedal on it and don't want my foot at a really awkward angle when heel down.
No case, but for how cheap this was I can buy my own and get something lighter/better. Maybe a used Pelican or knockoff or maybe just a cool briefcase from the thrift store.
It will probably be a while before I can get this up and running because I want to take my time and do it right, solder patch cables to length and all that. I may bump my guitar build back a little to get this done though.
Should be a fun project, and definitely useful once shows are booked.

Very cool, I used to have a very early PT-1 built like that back when Pedaltrains first came out.

Mine had the same sticker, so it's totally vintage!

A wild pedaltrain appeared.

You know if you spent a little more time giving your nano some love and attention and trained it a little harder, it would have evolved.....

My Pedaltrain's case was on its way to falling apart after getting thrown around a bunch and it turns out that the cases are more expensive than the boards, if you can even get PT to sell one to you by itself. It makes sense, I guess, given the materials and whatnot involved. But came as a surprise at the time for sure.

I hear if you give it a Moon Stone it evolves into a PT-2 with a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 attached to it.CorporateDisguise wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 1:59 amA wild pedaltrain appeared.

Pedaltrain GO should be a thing.
Looks like I have a line on a used Pelican case locally, so if that pans out tomorrow I will jump into this project.
I think that logo sticker is getting tossed. It’s just too ugly.

I heard it was in development, but to many incels got hit by cars during testing, so the project was ultimately scrapped.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 1:54 pmPedaltrain GO should be a thing.

Re: surprise NPBD - early Pedaltrain Jr.
Congrats. The Jr is a great size. If the pelican case doesn’t work out, the little mono bag is sturdy and smartly designed (and sold me on that company, in a way)
Tangent: no surprise (thinking of time frames, demographics, etc) but cool suitcases at thrift stores are a lot harder to come by than they once were. I should have stocked up in the 90s.

I’ve definitely noticed good thrift store suitcases drying up lately.cestlamort wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 8:10 amCongrats. The Jr is a great size. If the pelican case doesn’t work out, the little mono bag is sturdy and smartly designed (and sold me on that company, in a way)

Yeah, I think the Jr. will work out well. It’s big enough for a full sized volume pedal, but otherwise pretty compact.

That looks perfect. And would probably survive a white water rafting trip too.

I swear the hose was not being used for testing.cestlamort wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 7:28 pmThat looks perfect. And would probably survive a white water rafting trip too.

Re: surprise NPBD - early Pedaltrain Jr.
Found a used Eventide Powermax V1 aka Cioks DC7 last night. It’s not expandable, but has selectable voltage for every output. I figure 7 power ports is probably enough for a board this size and I need to keep the budget under control.
