Universal Audio pedals
The Golden reverb looks pretty great. Spendy though.

Re: Universal Audio pedals
I'm kinda interested in the modulation one (Astra?) for my bass board, since it covers so much.

That one just seems ok to me, but admittedly I am not a big modulation fan.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 10:58 pmI'm kinda interested in the modulation one (Astra?) for my bass board, since it covers so much.
Really liking the Golden. I’ve kind of decided to not make any further board changes until playing shows again though.

Everything they have done is always top-notch. A little surprised they are trying to get into the pedal game, but I guess the pricing shows they are looking at the top of the market stuff and realized they could probably offer something a little better. Personally, I'll wait a couple years until these are priced a bit better used. But I would definitely look at it for sure.

For sure. If there is a Strymon-like secondary market for these I think I’m in.ElephantDNA wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 5:35 pmEverything they have done is always top-notch. These would have been a major hit if they would have included MIDI on them. I know not everybody needs it, but at this price point it should be on there for those who do use it.

Re: Universal Audio pedals
I just got a Golden and a Starlite, loving them so far. I've got a Ventris and Nemesis that I like a lot, but it's kind of option overload for me right now and these are pared down quite a bit. Easy to get lost in them, I was messing with the DMM setting yesterday for 20 minutes? an hour? who can tell?
Now I'm gassing for the Astra, but it doesn't quite do what I want and I always feel like multi-mod options are tricky since they need to move around a bit depending on the effect. I've read that the tremolo in it isn't great, which would probably be the deciding factor for me -- the CE-1 would be cool, the harmonic trem in it is supposed to be good and the doubler/flanger sounds like it'd be fun, but kinda hard to justify unless it does more... but I WANT it haha.

Tried a Golden today. It was… ok. Not over the top impressive, but good. The modulation was kind of meh, or maybe it’s just the sweep of the control that wasn’t great. Maybe better in stereo?

Yeah I think these are a good option and for what they are very cool. But you don't need to spend this much to get good tones. If you're after a certain sound I think you can do better price-wise. If you're not price-conscious and you want something dependable and good sure go for it.
