The gold with the black and chrome is classy looking! I don't care for the blue one.

Shoreline Gold looks exquisit.
I really hope they do offer an option with a vibrato.
EDIT: Reminds me very much of my own recent build: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=118124
A black headstock would have been my final step...

These are both gorgeous, that Sky Burst is glorious.
Seems like a nod to the old Japanese Jaguars with the hardtails and the dragster pickups.
I'd love a JM scale equivalent model if it becomes available.

Yep, they mashed up two different colour schemes that came on the MIJs.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 4:45 amSeems like a nod to the old Japanese Jaguars with the hardtails and the dragster pickups.
I want to love the "sky burst" because it's been so freaking long since we had crazy coloured Jaguars available here, but that colour scheme looks like it was made for a surf guitar. It seems out of place on a hardtail HH Jag.
Having said that, these have black headstocks, interesting colours, and roasted maple necks - Squier is offering amazing things for Jaguar fans while Fender cut the Jag from the second AmPro line.

You are spot on; the Jaguar from Shermy from the Surfrajettes per example:
Still, Marr switches and a hardtail, I'm pretty excited.

Andertons have them listed now: https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/squi ... orele-gold
There's a contoured neck heel, a surprising feature on a budget guitar! I'm quite tempted.

The gold reminds me of the MIJ Jaguar Specials. I like it a lot, especially with the three position switch. The blue is not my thing.

I think the Sky Burst could use a white or parchment pickguard but otherwise I think I might be sold.
EDIT: Thomann has them listed now too, right around 350€, expected to be in stock in 7-8 weeks.

Re: Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST
Said it a billion times, but I'm still gutted about the lack of professional II Jaguars.
It comes to the point where I'm instead looking at a Squier with a stop-tail. If it had the (panorama) vibrato I'd be all over it, HH or not.
The colour is a bit off, that's not sky burst. The equivalent Strat labelled as sky burst is the accurate colour.
Controls on the upper horn are coil split and series/parallel.
Desperate times call for desperate measures... someone's gonna have to talk me out of this guitar

Re: Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST
I understand Squiers being cheaper versions of existing Fender models. I don't understand them being a platform for new variations that don't already exist as Fenders, like the switching in this guitar (or features in some of the Squier Starcasters). I can't bring myself to buy a Squier, although I'd happily use a Squier body as a platform for a partscaster (to which I'd add a Fender neck and Fender parts); bodies are bodies as far as I'm concerned, as long as they look right. I guess I'm a brand snob. For some reason I find Epiphones far more palatable - as Gibson substitutes - than Squiers as Fender substitutes.

I've been looking at getting an Electromatic Gretsch but the Shoreline Gold modded with Blacktop Filtertrons would scratch that itch just fine. The Johnny Marr switching is the icing on the cake. Also the neck has a 12" radius so it matches the bridge so that won't drive me nuts.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

is it just me or does that headstock shape just look off?
