I hope I didn’t come across as snarky, it’s exactly what my wife would have said, hahaha. I do like the traditional Gibson keystone tuners over the Martin butterbean but they are quite big.

Re: NGD: Gibson G45 Standard
Well, after nearly a year of owning this I decided to do the mods that I wanted to do on this.
- Replaced tuners with 3-on-a-plate Kluson
- Pulled the (meh) electronics
- Replaced the TUSQ saddle with a handcut bone saddle
Just got it back last night, but I'm already loving the aesthetics of the new tuners. They feel great too, way better than Grovers did. I'd say the sound is a bit more articulate with the bone saddle, but I also feel that with the lack of the piezo element between the saddle and the bridge that digging in gets the top moving a bit more. I'm excited to hear this as the strings break in a bit more.

Tuner looks really good! Would you mind sharing a link to the tuners (store or manufacturer)? I might go for that + bone nut too...I wonder if the saddles would make also a difference? Also, is removing the electronics a reversible mod?

Here are the tuners, you'll need conversion bushings too: https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardw ... hines.html
The saddle would make more of a difference than the nut, imho.
The electronics can be put back in, but it's a bit invasive to get them out. You have to fish out all the wires and there's an adhesive holding the volume/tone knob part to the body. If I need electronics eventually I'll put in an M1A or a K&K pickup.

Those white-button 3-on-a-plate tuners are a big favorite of mine – they look great on your guitar! Good upgrades on the saddle and nut, too.
