if i remember correctly, the older brother has access to tinted clear nitro? it could be shipped ground, which is no problem afaik.

really, in aerosols? that would be great. oh jerker..?

regarding inverness green, i think it's a bit too green, and according to vintage guitars info it's the gibson equivalent of sherwood green, which is also way too dark for what i want. i was thinking maybe teal green would be pretty close..?

ok, i'm confused. the vintage guitars info site says that pelham is gibson's LPB, but in this pic it looks like IBM, and IMO it's a lot nicer than the previous elliot easton SG i posted.

so maybe i should just do IBM and let it yellow naturally...

I got concentrated yellow nitro tint for mixing with clear nitro. GNU sells it. If you can get ahold on someone with a compressor and a spraygun (a custom car painting shop wouldn't be too hard to find - If you don't got any friends/relatives with the gear - if someone just got a compressor you can get the gun from Claes Ohlsson or Biltema for 200-300 SEK or even less) - I can get you a bottle (GNU takes 60SEK IIRC). The second option is that you bring the guitar to GBG (or send it) and I give it a couple of shots. Think about it.

BTW - that IBM(Pelham) SG on the last pic is one of the most beautiful guitars I've seen!  :-*

:)

Jerker

(Quite messy written english there, but I think you get it;)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

I've seen a couple of Pelham Blue SG's in person before, and I'd say that the colour is closer to IBM before ageing. I think you should yellow it though, I love that green tint it gets.

I think IBM makes more sense too. Check out Gibson's take on aged Pelham Blue.

Now that looks more like aged firemist(?) silver.

Agreed. But I don't think you could there from LBP. Well, at least not without massive fading.

I most definitely agree.

I feel as though that whole "this brand's colour is the equivalent of this brand's colour" is flawed, flawed, flawed.

I wonder about that too. I'm mildly interested in refinning my Classic in Heather Poly but the few pictures of that that I can find look nothing like BMM.

When they say that some Gibson color is the "equivalent" of another Fender color, it just sort of means that it was Gibson's attempt at having a similar color in their lineup.  They consciously used different colors, they just picked ones that were close enough that you could say "well, this is Gibson's pinky-purple, to go with their emerald green, just like Fender has their pinky-purple to go with their emerald green."

I think Fender wanted to have a literal rainbow of colors, and Gibson figured they needed to do the same thing to compete, but Heather Poly is definitely not BMM.

Yeah, I also noticed that they say "this colour is a bit darker than the Gibson equivalent".

I think Gibson used/uses a slightly different method or formulation in their finishes than Fender did/does.  It seems to me like they might check and age a little differently.  Can anyone confirm this?  It would make sense to me, as Gibson came from a pretty traditional musical instrument building background, and Fender finishes came from automotive roots.
