I like it. The SG-60T body has a bit of a Supro vibe.

I played an Eastwood McGeoch in a local store a while back and it felt really good (and noticeably lighter than my noticeably-not-light SBG1500).

However, I did notice that the wood seemed to have receded some from the inlays, and that the same thing is happening here on this one on Reverb:

Seemed like an okay guitar otherwise, albeit on a different quality level than the originals.

Just got mine back from my repair guy. After a refret, quick rewire, and polishing all the goop off, it looks pretty dang nice. A stealth thing of beauty, if you ask me! :)

Also I don't normally engage in such collector mentality things, but I impulse bought a Yamaha print catalogue from the same era pretty recently as well. Seeing as the thin-bodied SG1000's only lasted a few years (83-85ish?), it's cool to have written proof of them.

Now just to find the matching clownburst one!

Hi all,

Just wondering what the going rate for a sg1000 is these days. Got an opportunity to grab a 1982 cherry sunburst for £550 and wanted to get your views. The price ranges seem to be super variable so it's hard to know what a reasonable price is.

Thanks,

Tom

Hello
I am new to this forum and I'm not even sure if I'm posting in the right place ?>

I have a Yamaha SG2000 guitar 1976 (or at least I think I do) please read on. So I can see my serial number on the back of my head stock and the serial number points to a Yamaha SG175 1976. Here’s the thing the body is definitely a SG2000 1976 and so are the pick up’s dated and stamped as SG2000 has you can see by the pictures. Some of you are probably thinking someone has made this SG175 look like a SG2000 but comparing the bodies of both guitars they are miles apart.

Nice!

And definitely welcome to post in here. Yamaha SGs are quite loved non-offsets on this forum :)

What is the Showa date printed on the back of the pickup please? Photos too small/low res to see.
