Re: Mascis guitars
He still sounds like J no matter what he plays. I think he's got great taste in his variety of guitars and fuzzes.
The artist formerly known as kosmonautmayhem.

Re: Mascis guitars
definitely, he still makes brilliant music and sounds great! i've been mainly listening to their new albums during the last couple of years.
although i also learned to appreciate Bug now when i saw them perform it live (maybe 2011?). the dvd they released is great too - and it's all JMs!

Ugh, just realized its Friday at 4PM, and I haven't scanned this yet. I'll post the rest of it next week, I promise.shoule79 wrote:If I think of it this week, i'll bring the mag to work and do a proper scan of the whole article, write up and all.
The mag not only thought that his Jazzmasters were Jaguars, but they also got his Tele and Esquire confused.

Glad someone resurrected this. Huge Dino and j mascis fan. Does anyone happen to know what issue those magazine pics were from of his 90’s set up?

Re: Mascis guitars
Those pics are from Maximum Guitar magazine. I had that issue and remember drooling over those guitars as a young lad. It was around 97 i think. Sammy Hagar was on the cover. Wish I still had it.Russell1982 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 11:09 amGlad someone resurrected this. Huge Dino and j mascis fan. Excellent thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for an old copy. There are some good old issues like they around, I have an old copy of some guitar mag from the 90’s with an interview with Billy corgan about his set up for Mellon collie and that was super cool.Ursa Minor wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 6:45 pmThose pics are from Maximum Guitar magazine. Re: Mascis guitars
Love the idea of necro bumping “good” old threads. Would be awesome if there was a “vintage thread” archive giving access to all the notable ones.

Re: Mascis guitars
As a newcomer to the board I’m finding loads of old posts I love but don’t want to start dragging them all back up from the dead. But I agree, there’s seem great stuff that could otherwise be missed. And I would have hated to miss out on any good mascis info/discussions.
