If it came with a solderless wiring harness, makes no sense to spend extra money changing all that out.mbene085 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:27 amI would absolutely do that, except that what I bought was one of those Kinman no-solder harnesses since that was a good deal for me, I got the neck and middle Kinman pickup and the no solder harness for a little less than $200. I honestly just assumed it would be seven way switching but that's the other harness that they make.
And since the pickups are already set up with two prong connectors for the harness, I'll just deal with it for now.
I still love the Free Way switches, though. They'll be going into pretty much any guitar that I plan to rework the wiring of.

Is it a sign of a deep underlying issue that my purple metallic Tele has only increased my GAS for a purple sparkle one? I mean, first off, that one's sparkly. Secondly, it has different pickups. Thirdly, a different pickguard.
So clearly, it must be obtained.

Oh, hell yeah.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

1983 MIJ Squier Telecaster "SQ" serial. Has CS Nocaster pickups, but the rest is stock.

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
After going through pretty rough phases of experimentation I went back to fairly traditional specs on these two:
Both are partscasters. The yellow one has a very old Rockinger neck and most likely a Japanese Squier body, Fender Texas Special in the neck and DiMarzio Pre B1 in the bridge. The blue one has a brand new Rockinger baritone neck on a GFS body and a DiMarzio Area Hot T pickup. The necks are spectacular on both, the hot pickups make them some really mean rock machines. I love them.
