It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

WOAH! I never knew he could do that! I just thought he was mediocre and made the original. But that's just amazingexpescially considering the time and lack of effects

I don't think Les gets enough credit, he was the first man to multi trank record. There are probably alot of post rock losers that have no idea who he is but play his guitar anyways.

Most guys who play a Les Paul aren't fit to sit in with the real deal.

Les is the seminal electric guitarist. Much, much respek. Yo.

I love Les Paul.  He just has a wonderful outlook on life and really deserves all of the respect he's given.

Apparently he designed a few of his own guitars, but the LP was built by Gibson using some of his ideas, and endorsed by him .. he was a very well known guitarist at the time. Still playing regularly in NYC I believe.

He's great!

I'd love to hear him with a Jazzmaster.

Righteous!

Not only was Les one of the fathers of the electric guitar, it looks like he was the seminal proto-looper, too!  8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

jazzblaster is right, aside from his contributions to guitar which are immeasurable, the man gave us multitrack recording.  that means i owe him for my job.  and his playing is SICK.  anybody heard any recording of the regular radio show he and mary ford used to do?

I read some where that Leo was trying to turn him to the darkside, but Les was not mutch of a tele fan. Perhaps he should have given him a Jazzmaster instead....

I reckon he'd like it, but his contract with Gibson says he's only allowed to be seen with a Gibson model. Which sucks

I first saw Les about 15 years ago - Chet Atkins opened up for him, then Les and his trio burned the place down.  I thought there was going to be a quick encore, but Chet and Les did an entire 3rd set, taking requests, cracking jokes and having a blast.  Les did a pretty credible few phrases from "Eruption" too, giving kudos to EVH.
