I had another thought. I can’t remember the name but who’s that British luthier who made custom Gretsch guitars for Martin Gore? He made these stealth humbuckers that looked like Hi Lo trons. These pickups remind of those.

Guitar arrived.
Pickups have handwritten markings on bottom that say: "T -" and "CS".
Definitely custom but who made them? They both say T- and CS. Neck pickup has brass screws, bridge pickup has allen-screws.
From Google-image searching, my current hypothesis is that these are some sort of Lollar custom pickups. I found Lollar pickup images where the "CS" is written similarly, and also the Lollar black board they laser etch, would explain the Fender F logo thing on the top.

That does look like Lollar’s work. You should email them pics and ask.
How do they sound??

They sounded pretty good (note past tense). Nice boost around the mids. They reminded me of Wolftone P-90 Meaners.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 1:15 pmThat does look like Lollar’s work. You should email them pics and ask.

Unfortunately, the guitar is getting returned. The truss rod was seized (bolt was way up inside) and it had a pretty gnarly bow on the neck even with 9's. It was too expensive to keep as is and they (GC) wouldn't budge on price, but I considered it because the pickups are cool!
Another note, the top was routed a little bit to fit the pickups, so it wasn't a direct drop in.
Other notes:
They weren't noiseless but they were definitely quieter than a typical single coil. I think the "T" writing on the back, means this is based on Lollar's Teisco inspired pickup.
Lollar Teisco Goldfoils
I'm also guessing it doesn't say "Lollar" anywhere because of the Fender logo. Probably did this for a friend/good customer but the rest of the writing on the back of the pickup looks like other Lollar custom shop stuff.
If you want this thing, check with Guitar Center. It will probably pop up on their used site - but be warned, the neck is a no-go because of the truss rod.

$2500
On the high side for Coronados but I couldn’t resist checking out the pickups. Much too high now given the discovery of the seized truss rod.

Good call, that’s way too much for a fundamentally tanked guitar.
