Hadn't given it much thought till now, but this might account for why I generally prefer playing guitar sitting down.

Re: No, I don't like The Beatles...
Just over a year with this now. Still love it.
I did briefly consider selling it in a fit of "5 guitars is still too many!" minimalist rage but, after playing it more the next day, changed my mind. The neck profile is absolutely perfect really. Now it's got a custom pickup (Firebird in Ric's clothing) it sounds amazing, especially with some gain. I still haven't gigged with it with the band but it's become my go-to for solo stuff shows - which are a kind of folk/country/emo vibe about them.
I still dislike the big slab back but I've a) lost a little weight so it's not as extreme and b) just adjusted how I hold it.
It's a keeper.

I'm glad. A lot of people do. Not my cup of tea though.

Same man, to get the thread back on topic, with the exception of junk like Why Don't We Do It In The Road, but even great artists release their spoils sometimes. And I'd still take Yellow Submarine over covering a Swift/Sheeran/other modern paint-by-numbers I-will-follow-this-trend-because-I-cannot-do-something-truly-original pop music artist's song, because at least it knows how silly and camp it is, which makes it fun.
Strawberry Fields Forever is a slice of fried gold as far as I'm concerned, and contains a tape splice that's so seamless it took me years to work out why the formant of John Lennon's voice changes, and in fact I suppose I didn't - I can thank Brighton's own David Bennett for spelling this out.

God I miss having a Ric...I was watching a live Ride gig last night which gave me a bit of a GAS attack! Thankfully feeling better today!

Every time I go to regent sounds they seem to have a new used Ric in that I play and love. One will need to happen at some point. Not Johnny's though.

Fucking same.
My kids always want to quantify things in terms of favorites or top 3 lists, and they recently asked me who my favorite bands are (an impossible question to answer, honestly). Anyway, after giving out some thought I came up with this answer:
- The Beatles are hands down the most influential and consequential band in history. Whether you like them or not is irrelevant to this fact.
- Radiohead are the GREATEST band of all time in terms of breadth and musicianship.
- Wilco is my all-time favorite band.
[IMHO YMMV, etc etc]
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Not even I would object to this statement.

Re: No, I don't like The Beatles...
The funny thing about Rickenbackers to me is that so many guitarists, once they get 'successful,' ditch them for other guitars, the Beatles being example #1. The Who are another. Who stuck with them? Tom Petty? He was a guitar whore. Peter Buck?
So who else? That Fugazi guy that inspired JSett.
