The necks aren't that different from Fenders near the nut, but they don't taper the same way so the 12th fret doesn't feel much wider (so it's not as easy to tell where you are). Which is one reason I've really been into my Marr Jaguar, honestly.
Do the pickups have the hex pole pieces? They should in 2009.
Nice that the lower horn isn't too pointy, and that's not too salmon-glo. It will maybe warm up some with some sunlight.
Here's my old 2007 330-12, which was really salmony:
it did mellow a bit on the front:
I actually misread the serial number, it's a 2003, so non-adjustable Hi-Gains. I did figure out though that to lower the pickups I had to screw the pickup in more, rather than loosening it. That took me entirely too long to figure out.
I also already ordered the Winfield tailpiece. I'm not dealing with that restringing again, hah.
Also, it's interesting playing it position wise. It's weird having so much upper fret access, it feels like the first fret is a mile away almost.

Do one string at a time.

I've read a lot of people bemoaning changing strings on these...what makes them so bad?
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

I like their tailpieces, they work fine. I restring one string at a time.
My first time back in the 90s was hell... Then i learned the capo trick and that made it super easy.
But its even easier as mentioned first, one at a time.

I just looked it up and saw a video. Not that bad I think...my Danelectro Convertible had the same method. I used a capo.

It's a matter of having the ball catch the hole exactly where it needs to be. I can string a bigsby guitar in 10 minutes total, but this took me a half hour.

There are
options to mod Rickenbackers, including options for tailpieces that stay put.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I went nuts and put on the harp tailpiece, a Mastery bridge, and my usual locking tuners, and then string changing was as easy as it can be.
Then I traded it. But I'd get another one down the road. They really are great guitars.

I remember the first time I did it on the Dano and it was certainly frustrating but found a resolution on the second go at it.
It is a strange system for sure though.
You gave got me looking again at Rics though

Sorry folks - ignore all of the above. I was trying to post a pic of my new 330 but for some reason can't get the pic to appear from Flickr. I give up.
