Has anyone come across the Epiphone Inspired by Custom Shop V? Historic specs for £1k. They do an explorer, too. And an SG.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I am eyeing up the Explorer ones. £1000 for an Epiphone is a lot, mind you.sal paradise wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:00 pmHas anyone come across the Epiphone Inspired by Custom Shop V? Historic specs for £1k. They do an explorer, too. And an SG.

^---- Bob is the reason I want an Explorer (and the only reason I'd try a V). It's a shame Rocket Rolls are $$$$ now

Everyone's all gung ho about the '58 V's but all I want is an affordable '67 style, white, big pickguard and pointy headstock, covered pickups without rings. Why isn't that style of V being brought back?

Is that one on the right a Popa Chubby one? I've been looking at those as I'm a P90 fan...how was/is it?Chippertheripper wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 7:59 pmOnce upon a time.

The body and neck are solid korina unlike previous Epiphone versions that were made of alder with just a veneer and a maple neck. I'm a bit curious how they'd compare. Shame they put that satin finish on them...JSett wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:05 pmI am eyeing up the Explorer ones. £1000 for an Epiphone is a lot, mind you.sal paradise wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:00 pmHas anyone come across the Epiphone Inspired by Custom Shop V? Yeah.
It’s got a thinner neck, think mim fender Strat/tele style.
Korina veneered body, maple neck, normal mik electronics and the stock pickups were decent enough.
I don’t know that I would pay what they’re currently fetching, but it was cool to have for a bit.

Ahh, I see. I did wonder why the older ones were so wildly lower in price
For sure they seem to be a bit overpriced. I might take a look at the current offering...it's not like there's not plenty of options for HB-sized P90sChippertheripper wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:47 amYeah.

That new run is sure to be fantastic. Beyond that amos, the ibg335 and firebird I currently have are spot on.
I don’t know if they’re a limited edition or not, but they seem to be selling out almost everywhere pretty quick.
