For sure they seem to be a bit overpriced. I might take a look at the current offering...it's not like there's not plenty of options for HB-sized P90s
That new run is sure to be fantastic. Beyond that amos, the ibg335 and firebird I currently have are spot on.
I don’t know if they’re a limited edition or not, but they seem to be selling out almost everywhere pretty quick.
Hmm. I've just been offered one of the late 90's/early 2000's Epi 'Korina' V's for £400 (vs £1200 for one of the new range).

Not sure wether to risk the old one and save a load of money or try a new one, with the option to return it

Get it as fast as you can. They are fantastic and are usually sold for much more. At least here in germany.

They’re supposed to be available left handed but I haven’t found any. Ah, Bax has explorer & V with white scratchplate. £1,145.

And reading again, don’t think they’re doing LP or SG in l/h. Seems weird to sell the SG at £1k when you can get the 60s Gibson for £1300?

I’m really close to buying an epi LP special. The faded Pelham blue sg is calling, but £1k more & no one seems to have any.

Why do I want P90s all of a sudden?
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

P90’s are fun, but my current drug of choice is the firebird slug. They did say in their promo video that both the v and explorer would be available southpaw. Lefties rejoice.

The older mik V’s seem to be growing in prestige like everything else. I don’t have a hood enough reference to comment on market value per guitar dollar. The chubby was a hens tooth, so I had to at least put my grubby mitts on it for a little while.

Fuck it, £400 is pocket change for a guitar really. Not a great risk.

Let's do it :D

Heres the weapon in question...

Kung Fuuu, doooo whatcha dootame...

I had Ash crash at my place in the late 90s after a gig. By the time I'd woken up they'd drank all my beer, eaten all my bacon and left for the next stop on the tour.

Dammit. But he even put some effort in it. The chinese ones had vintage kluson style tuners and a black pickguard.

OSG owners of Flying V's post yours.

Lets get this V party started..
Here's mine:

I much prefer the 59 style over the 67 style but everytime I see one of those limited Gibsons with the crescent moon inlays I'm getting that funky feeling...

They are like the most perfect representation of the occult aspects of rock'n'roll to me:

Aww yeah, now this is a thread I can get behind. Been playing Flying Vs more than Offsets lately.

My current favourite is probably my 2020 "70's Flying V" that recently got a face-lift and some Fralin Twangmasters.

Image

I'll probably try some other pickups in it, the Twangmasters are great but this guitar is my warmest/least "snappy" feeling Gibson and it's causing a weird sort of clash in my brain where the tones sound quite Fendery but the guitar feels "wrong." I have a couple of other Vs which feel much more bouncy and snappy, so I think these pickups might suit one of them better.

I'm giving it time, though. It may just be a matter of adjusting to it. Plus, I put some really nice strings on it that I'm not ready to pull off yet, so I'm disinclined to mess with the electronics before then.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.
