Trying to figure out what guitar someone has for sale. This seems like the best thing I can come up with, but I cannot find any pictures online. It would be a four bolt with the truss rod adjust at the heel. Thanks.

i have a feeling they did because i do remember a japanese strat with a big headstock my friend had for a bit. it looked quite similar to the one used in this MotFD clip.

Yeah think the two models they do are ‘69 w/ 4 bolt & ‘72 w/ 3 bolt.
Plus the ‘57 & the ‘62, of course.

The 68 came out in the 90s. Same as the 67 I think, just with more colours.

Interesting… the one I am looking at had the CBS style headstock logo though and a rosewood board, but the guy has stopped messaging me back so I suppose it doesn’t matter at this point.

Haha, didn’t even realise what I was writing and just adding confusion. MIJ do ‘67, ‘68 & ‘69 basically all the same guitar. Except there are 3-4 price points on each model with different pickups & wood.

The ST-67 and the ST68 use different decals, more or less true to the logos of the year the originals would sport, some PAT-numbers missing etc.
I've come across RW models as well, but they are scarce. Last year there was a so called "Late 60s" model available in Japan, big headstock, RW fretboard.
I have both a ST-67 (1986/7) and the ST-68 (2012ish), there is a big difference in the neck profile, the ST-67 is very skinny while the ST-68 feels quite chunky.

...and it's Kluson-style (67) vs. Schaller (68) for the tuners

So it is! I always though the ‘68 was the same as the ‘67 just extra colours.
I’ve only owned a ‘72. So much for trusting to internetz.
