Highly Unusual Incoming guessing game
Just because I a) have very little self control and b) I've always fancied trying one of these I have bought something from Reverb that will scratch a long-standing itch. It's not gonna be here for about a month due to me going on holiday and the seller being in the middle of a move (so we've agreed to delay shipment) but I'm already excited, obviously.
It'll be interesting to see how quickly this gets guessed. Clues are:
It's over 60 years old
I paid less than £1000 for it
It has one pickup
Do your best.

Haha, really? You and I must have the same itch Johnny. I truly knew nothing about your desire for one from other threads or anything. Absolutely wild guess.

Dude, that's friggin gorgeous I love the look of those old Champions. I'm finalizing my design for a DIY lap steel/console steel, and the early Fender designs are probably my biggest inspiration.

Thanks! It was a toss-up between one of these or the slightly earlier Mother of Toilet seat ones. I prefer these, and they come in that cute as fuck mini caseShadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 4:13 amDude, that's friggin gorgeous I love the look of those old Champions. I need to track down a bridge cover, hopefully that's not too hard. I wonder if they're the same as a Tele or Strat model? *EDIT: found one on eBay, £60. Easy peasy.

Well done ! I ran into these when I was looking for inspirations for my Jazzmaster, and they made me look in vain for vintage-style Kluson tuners with black plastic buttons
I hope you enjoy it.

I think we've reached peak 'guessing game' posts with this one and can go back to just saying what we got outright.
And you find out life isn't like that

Re: Highly Unusual Incoming guessing game
Nice, I used to have one of these but I am sure the Fender variant is better
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Re: Highly Unusual Incoming guessing game
'Better' is subjective really. I love old Supro gear (especially the early, early MOP lapsteel amps)
