NGD - Danelectro 12 String
Well, I saw this guitar at a shop on Friday night and thought "I've wanted a 12 string again for a bit..." so I took today off, went to the shop, traded a guitar (my Dano Hodad) and a couple of pedals and came home with this. Straight trade. It's definitely seen some love, and it has a repaired crack in the neck (epoxied, looks real stable.) but it sounds the part and plays pretty well. I'm going to adjust the truss rod a bit more when my new set of strings arrives, but other than that I'm real happy. I've been playing "The Waiting" and "So. Central Rain" on a loop. The previous owner was nice enough to install a strap button on the back of the body between the neck screws, so I don't have to use the dumb right next to the back of the neck strap button.

Looks great! 90s MIK? I picked up one of those at Atomic Music right before the pandemic.
Absolutely LOVE it for recording and playing in alternate tunings. My only complaint is that the bridge pickup is crazy weak, no matter how high I adjust it.
Enjoy that thing, they're great great great studio tools!

Yep, 90's MIK. I'm a big fan of 12s. I grew up with a junky Fender 12 string acoustic, and then when I was in college I built a 12 string Tele, which was pretty cool. I sold it because I'm an idiot.garyfanclub wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 12:20 pmLooks great! 90s MIK? I picked up one of those at Atomic Music right before the pandemic.

On a dano I'm pretty much always running in the middle position. I raised the bridge pickup relatively high and brought down the neck a bit so it's a bit more sparkle and a bit less boom. I'm really enjoying it so far!

Very nice looking Dano!
I've been really looking into Dano 12 strings myself lately...I'll crack and pick one up eventually!

superb guitars! I reversed the string order on mine (like a Ric)
It does give it a different sound...not exactly like a Ric, but in the ballpark.

If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Nice!
I love the sparkle & chime of these- they truly play & sound like a much more expensive guitar, especially with a proper setup.

I got one of these for Christmas a couple years ago from my wife. Everyone got sick of my Tom Petty and REM riffs quickly. I liked it so much I bought her the 6 string version the next year.
