Number One MJT Stratocaster Finished Pg. 1

Post by HNB » Fri Nov 12, 2021 2:50 pm

I saw this body online and really liked how the finish was removed and the little painted parts. It has SRV carved into it and being a fan of Number One, I kind of wanted to pick it up. Luckily I won the auction. It had a hippie sticker under the bridge. I changed it out with a Honda one in tribute sort of to Jonny Greenwood. :) I can't wait to get this one together. :D

Took the sticker off and got the bridge on. I felt like the sticker was too bright and distracting. Pickups and such are installed. :)

Funny enough, I picked up a set of squier alnico 5 pickups. I know there is snobbery about Squier stuff, but I want to give them a try. They have normal magnetic slugs and such so they should sound like a Stratocaster. :)

A couple necks came in for two of my strats.

I dyed and stained it more aggressively than the Fiesta strat neck because of how dirty and relic'ed the body is.

Tuners are on and neck is mounted. Just waiting on fresh strings to arrive. I used a old rusty set to make sure the neck is mounted straight.

Strings came and I got it all together. My office is still in transition so I can't play it yet. I will do a demo once I can. Here is how it looks at least for now. :)
