NGD: Purple Tele!

Post by Embenny » Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:04 pm

So, hot on the heels of my NBD, we have ourselves a NGD. It's not often that my local classifieds have things that make me jump in the car to grab them, but I guess this is a "when it rains, it pours" scenario.

But what is it?

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Well, I like a man who isn't afraid to make a bold aesthetic move, but this guitar doesn't make quite as much of a visual impression, though its looks are in fact 99% of the reason I got off my butt and drove down to pick it up.

I kind of want one of those ladybugs now, though. Thanks.

Fair enough.

It's a bolt-on guitar that has been modded by its previous owner.

Goldtop ES-335?

Or maybe the almost equally rare Cherry finish?

No, it's a bolt on guitar with more than one pickup.

So now that Mike is a Gibson fanatic I'm sure it's a Gibson Victory.

Except that's a set neck anyway so it's not that.

Gibson S-1, then.
