What to do with broken acoustic?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

No interest in repairing it?
Is it repairable?

Wouldn't stop Willie Nelson playing it.

It can be made structurally sound. Making it look good wouldn't be worth it but shoring up and cleating the damage would keep it from deteriorating. If you have a lot of pleasant memories with it, fix it.
My favorite acoustic I keep around the shop is an old plywood Japan made Terada 000 copy that had a big hole in one side, a hole in the top, a hole on the other side, and some other assorted damage. My shop assistant didn't want to work on it because he thought it was worthless. I insisted, and he was surprised by how nice it turned out.

I had one come through last year with a huge foot-sized hole in the top. I cut the top off, added in some "shelves" - and my wife hung it on the wall and put succulents on it.

I had a little chuckle with the above …. gone from being cactus to supporting cactus …. but then I recalled that that slang word appears to be only Australian.....

What does cactus mean in slang?
Defeated.
Hence, CACTUS, in Australian slang, means: beaten, finished, ruined, kaput etc. e.g. Jim threw just two punches, and Jack was cactus.
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...
