Re: Sudden Guitar Obsession: Ever happen to you?
I have wanted one of these for a long time. I really like Seether and I dig the Mosrite look to it. Every time one has come up, it was one of the black ones I am not really into or it had damage that turned me off.
Every time until yesterday that is....

Another sort of band obsession I have is the pillows. (I have these guitars though.)

Shit I’ll go back and edit that ... how could I forget the old Hammond🤫. ThanksMrFingers wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 7:33 amBut no Hammondsookwinder wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 5:29 amBecause I am a piano/Hammond player I have always known (well sort of) the sounds of keyboards that I love (and hate), so my collection of vintage keyboards (Rhodes, Hofner Pianet T, Pianet N, Wurliter, Ensoniq ESQ1) and modern keyboards (Vintage Vibe 64, Roland something, Korg minilogue XD) were just on the list to get … now I have them
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Mechanical Birds' recent post reignited my Guild T-bird gas something fierce. I feel like I've gone through a 1-2 week-long obsession with that guitar a couple times a year for the past few years.

I gave into my obsession and have this on the way:Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 12:45 amI've been GASsing pretty hard for a firebird; I'm half tempted to do a kit.wproffitt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 4:47 am
Now, for some reason, it seems to have shifted to a Gibson Firebird V (in Cardinal Red, no less).
I guess I can *kind of* convince myself that a 12-string would add to what I have, but the Firebird had more to do with me being obsessed with the looks. I do like the sound , too, but I guess I’m just a sucker for cutting edge designs from that era. Wish me (and my wallet) luck. I’ve got a 2022 vacation to save for!

I'd been watching the listing, but really waiting to find something used. The seller offered me 15% off and I jumped at it. Nobody is discounting anything these days and used guitars are fetching the same prices as used. I couldn't resist. Naturally, I'm planning mods: Les Trem, switchcrat switch, possibly new pickups...

Are these neck-through, or a set neck with a raised body centre?Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 12:25 amI gave into my obsession and have this on the way:

I can only take him in measured doses, but Trogly lays it out pretty well here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjEafXuyMSUVeitchy wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 6:38 pmDear Epiphone, you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 6:00 pmThey’re truly neck through and reportedly, the pickups are more vintage correct than the current Gibsons, although I’m somewhat skeptical about how good they actually are.
