Thanks Maggie! That's Azul, she's the sweetest cat on earth. I'm sure Scooter was like that too!
I'm reeeeeally enjoying this strat. I even feel kind of guilty, being an offset guy and all...

regarding "warm and cool " ,indeed it has the best recorded guitar tone in history ... however it predates Verlaines lipstick Strat ,that came about in 1998 or so ... he used lots of lipstick loaded guitars since the seventies ... in "Warm and cool " he used a variety of guitars : a Vox teardrop ,a Kustom ,a Strat ,but he gets his signature sound with whatever hes playng ...look for an interview with guitar plauer magazine from 2007 ,i dont have it near me ... if you want to hear exclusively his Strat with lipsticks please listen to " music for experimental films " its a DVD fron Kino records ,unbelievebly good

Pots are something else to be aware of.
Danelectros use 1 meg volume 100k tone.
My JM/Lipstick strat hybrid is wired with that configuration for the middle lipstick and it is plenty bright enough. Considered a 250K tone pot but it really doesn't need to be brighter.
