OGD: My Yamaha Studio Lord Reborn
Hey All,
As some of you may recall this guitar was suffering from some weird neck ailments a few years years back and a few of the best shops in town had told me to dump it and that repairing it wasn't worth it. I was heartbroken, but I held onto it because I didn't want to give up on it. It took some time, but a friend of mine who is training as a luthier elected to give it a shot and he has managed to bring it back from the dead. I'm picking it up tomorrow but he just sent photos so I couldn't wait to share it. I'm so over the moon because I truly adore this guitar and it killed me Les Paul GAS forever the second I laid hands on it. Now just to find a wide strap so it doesn't kill my back as much...

I had him replace the stock pups with Dimarzio 36th Anniversary's as well as some new gold knobs for that 'modded 70s' look ala Frank Infante from Blondie. Also rewired it so I have a master volume for easier playing, as well as individuals in case I ever want to do any on/off toggle switch tricks.
Anyway, I'll take more photos once it's had a proper polish and it's home.

Y'all gotta stop. I have had pretty much zero desire for a Les Paul and then I start seeing photos like these...congrats on getting your guitar back!

They're awesome guitars. You can still find decent deals on the 450S and 500. One of my buddies got a 500 for $500 this past summer.redchapterjubilee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:10 amI shoulda got a Studio Lord/Lord Player before the prices went up.

Isn’t this the guitar Bill Nelson played in the Be Bop Deluxe days?
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

He adopted an SG2000 for awhile after he stopped using his ES345. I had an SG1000 for a spell and it was definitely a well-made instrument as well. Keeping an eye out for one of the thinline 1000S's as we speak
