Rickenbacker on backorder

Does anyone know what is up with rickenbacker guitars? They have been out of stock at all dealers since covid started and there is no sign of them returning.

Are they closed due to covid?

Rickenbackers are usually on backorder, but I'm sure COVID-19 has slowed them down much more than usual. Probably had their factories shut down for months.

I ordered a 360 last year and it seemed to take the normal amount of time (4 months or so) but then I ordered a 4003 near the end of the year in October and it was ready to go by November even though I was told I would receive it in April at the earliest. I didn't get it till this month because I had asked to pay it off in installments first, but if I had the money I could have had it really fast. Maybe it depends on the dealer? Mine was Sweetwater.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. For better or worse Ric have always moved at their own pace. Covid would certainly have an impact on wait times, but they weren't exactly pumping guitars out before.

I'd recommend getting a used one. (Love the guitars, don't love John Hall et al at all)

Specifically looking for a jetglo 330/6. Used prices are off the charts ranging from $1500-2000 while new is $1499. I have them in my reverb feed but they rarely pop up. Used prices used to be $1000-1200ish tops.

I had a midnight blue 330 but want a black one now after see Joyce manor a while back.

As far as I know the 330 is $1499 at musicians friend. I think the 360 is $1999. Not sure of other models. My brother got is 4003 bass at sam ash and I think it was $1499 but that was at least 12 years ago.

But on a serious note, the simpler stuff is pretty reasonable around $1499 or so, with prices tiering up similarly to MIA Fender to around $2500ish for regular production stuff, more for anything limited (this is from a year or so ago when I called up Sweetwater and asked about their price list for shits and giggles).
